We drove one hour and forty five minutes to meet a friend and dine at what we knew to be the best burger in Duvall and Nassau counties. We arrived at 12:40. Our friend was delayed ten minutes. She met us at the table we had saved for our visit. When we gathered to order the person behind the bar refused to feed us. NO one told us it would be best to order before 1:00 when they were to close. One o’clock?!? NO wait staff said anything to us prior. $5.00 a gallon of gas and the long destination trip and a very poor welcome.
Went for breakfast. Friendly and personable staff. Excellent cinnamon roll. Self-serve coffee, sodas. It ain't high class but it is good and that's all that matters.
T-Ray’s is a “must visit,” every time I’m in my hometown with family and friends. Crab cakes and burgers are my favorites, and the breakfast biscuits. The food is homemade delicious, the staff is great, and I always see friends there! (I dated this review from last October, because that’s when I last took a picture!)
T-Rays was recommended by a local resident and she was right. I had asked for nothing fancy but decent food. T-Ray's is a former gas station site and the food is really good. I ordered a generous sized BLT that came with fries that reminded me of homemade fries of my childhood. My husband ordered the Trigger Fish plate and loved the fish. He said the slaw was good and after a taste of it, I agreed. Breakfast and lunch are the only meals served. There are weekly specials such as Monday is Fried Fish plate, Tuesday is meatloaf day. The menu contains surprises such as Fried Bologna sandwich and Portobello Mushroom sandwich. We chose to eat in and not take out. This is a popular eatery so the place was very busy and service was good. There are tables inside and out. If you are in the area, give it a try. I doubt you'll regret it.
This is a locals joint. The food is great and the people are super nice. T-ray still works the grill. Great breakfast and great lunch. Try the crab burger. It does not disappoint
This will be for the breakfast because that's what we usually come for. I love the cinnamon rolls, they are the best I've ever had. The portions are not small, they do not skimp. If you like American diner style breakfast this is the best place around.
A local favorite. Amazing lunch with outdoor seating, dog friendly! Would recommend the fried shrimp, great local seafood options and just delicious. Salad was fantastic as well. The hush puppies were out of this world 11/10. Friendly service, thanks for a great time.
We've been enjoying this place for years and can't say enough good things about it. We love its casual, "old school" Fernandina atmosphere and the burgers are scrumptious... even the breakfast is very tasty. Someone else posted that T-Rays is the best place on the island for both breakfast and lunch. AGREE! I hope this place never closes. It's a special place and a must for anyone who enjoys burgers and good Southern food.
We went for burgers and then we couldn’t decide because everything everyone was eating looked delicious. We did get the burgers and fries and some with onion rings. OMG! They were large and messy but oh so good. The fries were cooked perfectly and the onion rings were real onions. BEST LUNCH AROUND! I can’t wait to go back to Amelia Island just to eat at T-Rays.
Found this place because of the book “Road Food” and LOVED it here! We love that they repurposed the gas station, and the food was fabulous! ? Best burgers I think we’ve shared about on our RV adventures so far. I think they’ve spoiled us for life! ?
