At the risk of never getting a reservation again, I still must highly recommend Pogo's! Not sure how long this restaurant has been here but even with an annual family trip, we had never been to Pogo's before. Menu looked great so we decided to try it out. It exceeded expectations......even the French fries on the kids menu were great. Bar and drinks, atmosphere & decor wonderful, service professional. Located between the Omni Amelia Plantation and the Ritz Carlton, don't miss it!
Best food I’ve eaten in a while. We started with a Charcuterie board and complementary peanut hummus. Then I ordered Shrimp w/ grits and Mushroom Stroganoff. Topped our night off with a few Espresso martinis. They do not take walk-ins so you must make a reservation. They called me a few hours ahead of time to make sure I was coming in my party size was the same.
Food was excellent and service equally impressive, attentive but not distracting. Had the oysters Pongo style, yum. Wine bottles are half off on Tuesday’s that was a bonus.
We love Pogo's and eat there whenever we're on the island. Great selection, vegetarian friendly (great for me an my husband can get seafood). Love the boiled peanut hummus appetizer as well as the creative small plates and desserts. Highly recommended.
I don’t make it up to this part of Florida often. Pogo’s is a must visit. Very esthetically pleasing interior. Food was wonderful. We had oysters, so far best we’ve had in town by far! Tuna poke, trout, cauliflower, grilled octopus. Everything was A+. If you’re in town be sure to check it out.

During our visit to Amelia Island, we visited a couple of fun, casual restaurants in the lovely downtown. Then we took a short drive across the island to Pogo's Kitchen for a nice, upscale dining experience. We began with a complimentary Boiled Peanut Hummus. Kathleen chose local Shrimp with Crispy Grits while I had the Smoked Chicken Lasagna, both excellent choices. The contemporary environment and professional staff along with excellent food make this a great destination restaurant.
This restaurant is truly outstanding. Every aspect was a joy to experience. Their dishes are creative without being pretentious. Everything we ate was delicious, beautiful and art on a plate. The chef here is at the top of his craft. The service was also top notch - team-oriented, helpful, and each person took time to check on me while waiting for my husband. One of the finest dining experiences of my life. Do not miss this one.
We had wonderful service! Our waitress was so nice and gave suggestions about menu items. She answered all of our questions and was friendly and polite.The night we were there, they served a boiled peanut hummus and naan taking the place of the more traditional bread and butter. The hummus was delicious - I was to recreate it at home. The naan was burned pretty badly, but we did get a new order when requested. Our appetizers and salads were good. We had the pickled shrimp, baby gem salad, and bacon farms green salad. Each were seasoned well and had good flavor. Our entrees were the more disappointing part of the meal. Two of us ordered the Szechuan spiced duck (which we were told was a carry over from the last season menu because it was so good), the bolognese and the smoked ricotta raviolo. The duck came with 5 slices of duck, all of which had a big piece of fat that was not crispy or rendered. It came on a crispy, fried scallion pancake (it was not described as fried). The bolognese was good, though slightly under seasoned. The smoked raviolo was one piece of ravioli that was not very large. In all, the portions were small and not impressive.In the future, if I were to try again, I would sit at the bar and order apps only.
It was a welcome end to a long and tiring day. The wait staff welcomed me with a menu and offer of a drink. Our family shared a bread tray and calamari. The steamed greens and vegetables hit the spot. The service was quiet and never lacking. The quiet setting was restful and soothing. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect dinner!
