We’ve been before and loved it, but this visit the food was just ok and service just so so. I had tacos and they were swimming in grease. The salsa and chips were good.
4 of us for dinner.. Guacamole was forgettable! 3 dinners arrived , food cooling while we’re waiting for the missing plate, don’t like to eat while waiting BUT we were told to go ahead.. The 2 pork tamales were awful, tough meat.. Other meals ok..Our server was haughty.. Observed a server passing by licking her fingers - UGH… 3 had been to Peppers before, 4 will not be returning.. other better Mexican restaurants around…
Visited in May 2022. Nice, clean and inviting. My husband had carne asada and I had the chicken nachos which were some of the best I have ever had and I am from Texas where we have excellent Mexican food. Our waiter was Cliff and he was great. If we ever come back will definitely go back to this restaurant.
This is a casual Mexican restaurant with consistently good experience. No bells and whistles, just good food and family friendly option.
It was rated best Mexican in Fernandina Beach. It was far from it. We got a nice table outside, ordered drinks, and we’re ready for great evening. Chips and salsa arrived. Chips were pretty flavorless. I had fish tacos which were decent, but my husband had steak fajitas which were boring. Usually fajitas come out on sizzling plate but did not. Steak, a few onions, and a few peppers was all. Had to ask for sour cream. So we concluded meal was so-so! Now the part that infuriated us. We waited and waited for check, kept signaling waiter but he never came. I finally caught Him at register and requested check. He fumbled around and about 10 minutes later, another server brought us check. To be blunt, service was below par and so was our experience. We won’t be back there!!
This was one of our favorite restaurant meals in downtown Fernandino Beach. They do not take reservations so there can be a wait. The bar area serves food and seating is first come, first serve which is where we ate. The 2 bar tenders were pleasant and very efficient and made excellent margaritas. We were there for lunch and had the shrimp fajita which we shared. It was excellent. The shrimp were cooked to perfection as were the peppers and onions. It was served with a side of rice and beans. Oh, did I mention the chips and salsa? Yum!
The shrimp tacos were great, and my wife couldn't quit raving about the chicken quesadilla. Fantastic food in a great location!

The restaurant is super cute with outdoor seating. We opted for inside since it was a chilly windy day. The guacamole was really good with the right amount of spice. The blood orange margaritas were amazing (I mat have ordered a 2nd). The nachos and tacos were really good and fresh. Great option for family meal or dinner with friends
This is my new spot! I gotta say I love Peppers. What more could you want? All the drinks you could need and the Mexican food varieties you could crave. I’m a beer drinker myself, and although they may not have a huge selection of beer, they have the basics you could possibly need. I tend to swing towards an IPA and my needs are met on that front. Alex, the bartender, is sweet and genuine, knowledgeable and accountable. You can tell he cares about giving the best customer service, and he is quite a nice soul himself(:I have been here two times so far and plan to make this my weekly outing spot (:There aren’t many good food places in Fernandina, but I would say this is one of the good ones. Give it a try!! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
