Wow! Excellent service and food! Definitely a hidden gem. Everything was delicious. The complimentary holiday roll was extra special upon sitting down. Excellent!
Today was a sushi day for us guys. One of our guys lives close so it was recommended. Now I'm doing the same courtesy to you all, this is a wonderful place to come. It's very pretty and humble.I ordered the gyoza to start off and then volcano rolls. Everything was spot on. Treat yourself to this location whenever you get the chance. :)
Love the food! Dislike the fact that appetizer and Oreo dessert is hit or miss! Missed my Oreo dessert the last two times!
We love Fancy Sushi. We got an order to go, and even the presentation in the take-out container was very visually appealing. We ordered the sushi sashimi combo, and it was amazing! We have eaten a lot of sushi and sashimi in our travels, and this was the best! The fish was extremely fresh and flavorful. The mushroom broth was delectable. The roll assortment was fantastic. Everything that was included in this meal was the best! The cuts of fresh fish were very generous, and the price for all of this was more than reasonable - $40 and more than enough for two people. Highly recommended and we will be back. If you like sashimi and sushi, you will be more than satisfied. Don't pass up Fancy Sushi!
Staff was expedient, however we had to flag one down to get chopsticks. Waitress that took our order did not know the difference between sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. A different waitress also walked away from me in the middle of asking a question. The roll I received when I ordered nigiri was simply put: mush. Overall terrible experience, will not be eating here again.
Great choice for Lunch - Soup, Salad, and Shrimp/Crab tempura included. The food and overall service was very good. Really enjoyed our experience. Highly recommended!!
Sat down and was asked what to drink. 10 minutes later still nothing. I asked another waitress walking by if I could get my drink and she brought it right away. Same when ordering meal. Not sure what my waiter was doing, but he didn't seem interested in dealing with us. Both parties were cordial with each other, so not sure what the issue was. Anyway, food was ok, and service less than desired. Personally, the one in Yulee is way better all around and recommended.
One of our favorite restaurants in Jax Beach is Fancy Sushi, so while we in Fernandina Beach we tried this one. No comparison! Got NO soup with our sushi entree. Salad had a big clump of not so good ginger dressing with iceberg lettuce which was not easy to eat with sticks because the clumps were bigger than a mouthful. The Sushi Deluxe came with TWO pieces of cooked shrimp? I asked the server what “sushi” was and the reply was RAW fish? Then, we got a $3 UPCHARGE for substituting a Roll that had the SAME price as the one on the menu? WTF? Try another spot….how the HECK did they become #1 on TA….I have NO idea!
We ate here for my wife's birthday as she was really in the mode for Japanese. The service was great. The waiter was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I don't really like Japanese food or Sushi, but Fancy wasn't bad. Japanese food has too subtle flavors for me. The free Holiday Roll (I think that is what it was), was tasty and so was the free soup. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki. The flavor was pretty muted, but it was good as were the veggies. Everyone else liked their food as well. My wife has the Scallops fried rice. The fried rice is pretty plain, but the Scallops were good. Our son also got the Teriyaki Chicken. Our daughter got sushi and she really liked it. Although I probably wouldn't eat here again, my wife and daughter definitely will.
I’ve never given a Google review, but this one deserved it. This was probably the best sushi I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the Hwy. 17 Roll and Amelia Island Roll.
