25 Wedding Anniversary, had a terrible time finding the restaurant, food was just OK We also were told they were closing for Remodeling, which it really needs!!

Loved everything about our dinner at Cucina South last night. I just happened to find it on Google and if I lived closer I would definitely go back often!

We love Cucina South! I always get the Cioppino - there is just nothing else like it. Fresh seafood in a briny broth, simple and delicious. Service is always great.
Both our seafood dinners and wines were excellent! We ate on the front porch, the only outside, shaded area, and only two tables available there. Katie was knowledgable, helpful, likeable and attentive. It had been years since we last ate here, but we will go back.

This is our second visit to the restaurant. Our first visit was 5 stars. This time I decided to have spaghetti and meatballs. Big mistake. I think they ground their own meat but my meatballs were heavy and had small pieces of either bone or gristle. In fairness my wife had shrimp over angel hair and loved it.
It was our first visit ⦠upon entering instead of smelling the mouth-watering aromas of Italian cuisine we had anticipated, we could only smell a sewer-like smell. The interior of the building looked run-down, shabby, & unclean. We requested to eat outside on the porch which was lovely. The entrees we ordered were not what we expected. The seasoning was overpowering & the presentation was not optimal. We ate very little of the entrees as the heat of the spices was overpowering. The service was EXCELLENT! Wait staff was attentive & courteous. Wine list extensive & flavorful. The salad prior to the meal & desert afterward were both outstanding. They did adjust our tab due to being unable to eat the entrees that were extremely hot & spicy which was gracious. I will give them a second chance & select a different entree.
