We just walked in and were lucky to get a table. Really great food and a lovely bottle of wine. The place was busy but we got great service. Would recommend this place.
We enjoyed our dinner, which consisted of a Margherita Pizza and salad. We then splurged and ordered the Tiramisu. All was wonderful!
An excellent menu for the entire family. Our group included diners from age 4 to 74. Everyone was very pleased with both the food and service!
We ate here on our trip to Fernandina in 2022. I am not a fan of Italian food but I was surprised! The environment was nice. The Italian owner met us at the door and seated us. The wait staff never let a cup go dry or the garlic bread basket go empty. They were knowledgeable of the menu, what was in it, how it was made. The food was delicious but not too rich. We ordered the fried mozzarella for an appetizer. It came with a pesto aioli that was good on everything. They also serve bottomless garlic bread. We tried the fettuccini alfredo, chicken parm, Cappelli de Angelo, and chicken marsela. It was all delicious but not over powering. The portions were generous. They do have wine and alcohol, but we do not drink. We spent about $120 for 4 people with a tip so it is a little more higher end. We would go back on our next trip.
Unfortunately I had a terrible case of food poisoning I presume from bad mussels. Typical symptoms: violent chills, diarrhea, vomiting. $175 for a real bad bout.
I have eaten at Italian restaurants all over the world and I can honestly say this one tops them all! From the mussels appetizer to the Braised Short Ribs, everything was perfect! The service was excellent! When it comes to writing a review for me, one of two things has to happen…… it is either so good that I am overly impressed or it is absolutely horrible and the wait staff did nothing to help the situation. In this case, it was one of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever witnessed! After our meal, the owner come by to ask how everything was. He was a super guy also! Just eat here and trust this review! You won’t be sorry!
Pleasant service, very accommodating as we were doing a surprise 82nd birthday. Food was quite nice, some dishes better than others. The risotto was light and fresh, as was the octopus. Fish dined a bit bland. Overall, worth a visit.
I had heard good things about Ciao, so I was really looking forward to eating there. My favorite Italian dish is eggplant parmesan, so that's what I ordered. It came pretty quickly but was not hot. I should have reported that to our waiter, but he wasn't especially attentive, so I ate it anyway. It was the most ordinary eggplant parmesan. No more than decent. As if that wasn't disappointing enough, the water that was brought to the table tasted bad, so I ordered mineral water. The waiter brought a huge 1 liter bottle. I only discovered when I got the check that the charge for the mineral water was $7.50. Wow. I only needed a glass. A much smaller bottle would have done fine. The service was below par, the waiter unprofessional, the cost way too high for such an ordinary meal and lack of service. I won't be going back there, ever.
My wife and I have passed by this restaurant countless times and unfortunately never stopped in until tonight. The food was fresh, appealing to look at, full of flavor and plentiful. Service was great. The mussels were delicious…and that sauce! Both our entries are definitely going to be favorites. Thank you Stephen for excellent service! We will most definitely be back.
What a fantastic place to dine!!! We just left 15 minutes ago. the meal was unreal so good, above and beyond customer service. Most restaurants were 1.0-1.5 hr wait!! Seated in 15 minutes meal in less than twenty what a great experience thanks to the ownership and the bar and waitstaff. A job well done
