Now I start this out by saying, the only reason for a 4 rather than a 5 is the same reason for a lot of places. Not enough staff. It’s not their fault, it’s just the times we are in. The restaurant is a repurposed Captain Ds or something of that sort. I don’t remember what used to be there. Either way, the staff is fantastic that they have. They work very hard. The cooks are Awesome! Some of the best Mahi I have tasted. Platters were great size. Will be back.
We’ve noticed they are short of staff when we just walked in, but we don’t know they are short of food too :( we were so disappointed with these two small portions, and they costed $52 + $12 tip. Won’t go back.
Best shrimp and founder I have ever had I'd give 6 stars if I could, everyone is super nice and great vibes all around. Definitely worth a trip here if you've never been ❤️
Real seafood place food for friends and family where you can eat crab and seafood, but not a selfie spot. Friendly staffs and cheap price tag for beer and wine.
Very unprofessional. I sat down and the waitress was very rude and prejudice. She was rushing me to order. The manager on duty saying that they were short staffed. That's no excuse for being nasty and unprofessional. The table was wet sticky and nasty just like their attitude. Roaches crawling on the table
We have come here at least once a year with my daughters family for the last 4 years!!! Best crab legs and lobster tails around!
This would not have been a place we would normally choose to dine in but it was our first night in Fernandina Beach after an 11 hour drive and we were too tired to drive around and look for better options. The ambience is one step above a fast food joint and the food seemed like it was your run of the mill frozen and thawed seafood that you could get in the Midwest rather than on the beach. Service was good and some of the food was tasty. It was very overpriced and they were a bit skimpy on the portion size. If you aren't to tired, I would skip this place.
I looked up top 5 seafood restaurants in the area and this didn't disappoint. The food was AMAZING. So good that we went back 2 days in a row. We got seated right away, the wait staff was SO nice, even though they were busy. We ordered the trio platter to share between the two of us and it was perfect.
We came to Cedar River in hopes for a small family place to enjoy some seafood for our party of 6. After waiting 10 minutes for a server to come to us ( the place was empty we were one of 3 tables there ) it took about 30 minutes for food. Our server was so nice and patient as we had a 3 year old and a 1 year old. After a long day at the beach you can image they were tired and hungry. My one year old was fussing because he was tired. The manager came from the back and asked me to get my kid to stop yelling because they were trying to work. Not knowing he was the MANAGER I made a comment to him to just leave if my kids were bothering him. He then like an idiot admitted that he was the manager and again asked me to get my kid to stop yelling. He then ran to the back like a scared coward once words started getting exchanged and then refused to come back out to face us. The server gave us the owners phone number and I left her a VM. I’m hoping to hear back from her with a good excuse as to why her manager felt he had the right to ask me to shut my kids up. We have been faithful customers to not only that location but others In Jacksonville. We paid 117 bucks for food we had to box up and take home. Leaving my kids still hungry. That manager is a sad excuse as a person and by the looks of him had some drug issues. I am a server of 10 years.. The audacity. Those workers deserve better and the owner needs to pick a better manager. The end!
We enjoyed our visit. There was a little confusion with the hostess as to where to sit us, but it was worked out quickly. We believe she was kind of new at this position. We had a great waiter. I wish I could remember his name. It was busy and loud in the restaurant so it made it a little hard to hear everything clearly.Portions...make sure you go when you are starving because they bring you enough for two people to eat! My husband and I couldn't finish our suppers due to the ginormous amount of food we were served! I got the fried shrimp and it was great! My husband got the broiled chicken. The garlic mashed potatoes were amazing and the cole slaw was good as well. We both ordered those. All of the wait staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and that made for a more pleasurable dining experience in top of the amazing food! Thanks for the fun and laughter! We will definitely come back!
