The staff are very nice and service minded. But the food is not very special, not so tasty and the ground meat was very dry. My meal was served on a plate, which was too small for the serving, even though it was a standard meal. Everything was a mess, glued together with cheese, all tasting the same. The rice was good though. After a few bites, I asked for some jalapenos, just to give it a little taste, but they didn't have.
Avoid this place. The serving sizes are small for the cost. Seems like everything is frozen and heated up too. Good service but not a good experience, too expensive for what is offered. Over $50 for dinner for 2. This is for 9 small greasy shrimp over-cooked bell peppers, 3 tortillas, bit of lettuce, tomato, sour cream, an enchilada, and cup of rice, cup of refried beans
My first time eating there. I tried the pollo Mexicano, was pleased with the taste but unhappy with the size of the chicken. For $13 for this meal I would expect a little bit more chicken. More than likely I won't go back
My fajita and margarita were delicious!Authentic decor, loved the artwork on the tables and chairs. There's lots of seating outside too. Prompt and friendly staff.
Tried to visit for lunch during the week. We were informed they were having computer issues and we wouldn't be able to pay with a card. We said that was fine, but then were left standing at the door for over five minutes while one employee sat at a booth and another walked around frantically not seeming to know what she was doing (there were no other customers seated). We finally gave up and went somewhere else for lunch. As we walked out the door a lady walking towards the restaurant asked how long it took us to get seated. I informed her we never did and gave up. She then made a comment about how they still havent gotten it together. So this kind of behavior may be the norm here. ?
So glad to have Comadres for lunch today. Always a nice meal for decent money. Loving the new booths too!
Five of us for lunch. Took forever for our food and then it was barely warm (all 5 lunches). Would have sent them back but took too long the first time. I had the tamale and the sour cream chicken taco. Tamale was made with biscuit type dough, not cornmeal, nor was it wrapped in corn husk. Everything was dry, very little sauce or sour cream. Asked for salsa. Had to ask a 2nd time. Same with waters. Husband ordered burrito with red sauce, got green. I had a Dos Equis amber; ordered a 2nd. Out of that. Ordered Modelo, out. Third option was Victoria, which I did enjoy. But a lot of time ordering and waiting. Just cannot recommend Comadres.
Compadres had very good food before 2020 not so much now. We loved their salsa but they have always been stingy with it & the chips. Now their salsa is not even good so there’s that! Not going to make the mistake of showing up there when the Mexican food on placida is so excellent and they have amazing salsa. The staff is very friendly and generous with both chips and salsa!!! The servings are very delicious and big too!
This was my second visit to comadres. The first time I sat down inside to eat, food was fair but I was very surprised at the portion sizes-small yet still priced at regular rate.I chose to give them another try for lunch and did take out this time. I was disappointed in the entire experience. The chicken in my chimichangas was completely dry, I suspect it was chicken possibly cooked a day prior. The beans, like in other reviews are incredibly watery. Possibly canned and mixed with water to create larger batches to serve? I was anticipating a serving similar to what you would get served at the table when I ordered the chips and salsa. The salsa tasted quite different than the time prior. The food unfortunately went to waste and was a disappointment. I was also unaware they are charging more at the restaurant than the prices on the menu that they have displayed on their website. The lunch special I thought I was ordering his advertised at $8.95, as you can see I was charged $10.45.Too disappointed to return.
The food is always so good, and so much. Sebastin gives the best service, friendly, attentive and so thoughtful. Great Mexican food ?
