I think this is the best restaurant in Tampa Bay. Both the food and service are outstanding. We make it a once a quarter trip from Tampa to experience the Black Pearl. They stand out in that first the staff is long-term and highly professional. They know how to execute fine dining. The food is prepared by their chef who has been with them over 15 years. The food is french and continental, all very fresh and gourmet. They have just 12 tables, so you will have a very personalized experience. Go to the Black Pearl for the best in Tampa Bay!
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous.We've visited Dunedin several times and finally decided to treat ourselves to the Black Pearl. Such a good decision. We may need to be treated every time we come back.Our server, Zach, was exceptional - great suggestions and smooth service. Wine list and menu is excellent.Only con was that we didn't have enough room for dessert when we were done. But more reason to return.Loved it!
I saved my first visit to celebrate a special occasion with a loved one. The experience was lovely and delicious. A small intimate environment with about 10 tables, the pace was perfect and the ambiance cheerful. We had memorable dinner that was well thought out and executed. Complimentary "dishes" between courses help achieve a seemless transition from beginning to end. The associates they employ are on top of everything throughout, not a missed step, professional and engaging. Everything we ordered was absolutely brilliant. An extraordinary harmony of flavors and scents. This is a special place, add it to the bucket list.
This place is amazing! They really care about the items they put on their menu. You feel special when you come in. We tried the lobster risotto - amazing. Entrees we did the rack of lamb and sea bass - loved it, so flavorful. And the bananas foster - we fought over that dessert it was so good. Thank you for making our time here in Dunedin special.
I was happy to have planned enough in advance to book a table at Black Peal. It was excellent and just great staff. Loved the place, we will be back.
We had a relaxing and enjoyable dinner at The Black Pearl. The service is great--attentive without over doing it. The menu is inventive--everything we tried was outstanding. It is pricey, but not by "big city" standards. That said, The Black Pearl would hold up well against all but the very best. The place is very small, which makes for a nice dining experience, but also makes reservations a necessity.

I’m not young and have eaten in many different places. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve have ever been to. Everything was super and the wait staff was exceptional as was the wine list. The chef deserves accolades. Even the “black Pearl” at the end was a great burst of flavor! Would go back there in a minute!
The Black Pearl is a quiet restaurant perfect for an intimate dinner. The service is outstanding and the menu items are delectable. As a vegetarian, I was especially pleased with the 5 grain risotto entree including artichokes and roasted tomatoes. It was deliciously flavored and very hearty. The Black Pearl is not an inexpensive place to eat, particularly since most everything is a la carte including the amuse-bouche. Nonetheless, it was one of the best dining experiences in this area.

Seriously. The food. Check their menu & ponder your possibilities. No one should be disappointed . Repeat often.
