I felt like I was at a backyard BBQ picnic at Eli's! Very friendly, and down-home goodness! We had a half slab of ribs, small black-eyed pea salad, chopped pork, and two additional small sides for takeout. Excellent flavor! We will be back!
I love going to little mom and pop shops as they usually exceed expectations and this was no exception. The food was good, staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Location is great right on the pinellas trail. Only downsides are that they are only open for the weekend (so get there early, items do sellout), and if you eat at the picnic tables you will be fighting the flies and such but nature is out of their control so I don't fault the owners. Will definitely be back as I want to try their burnt ends.
Super friendly people and amazing food. I'm a big BBQ guy, being from Texas I'm pretty picky about what I consider real BBQ to be. This was what I would call down home good southern style BBQ. No sauce needed on the chopped pork sandwich. I can't wait to go back next Friday!
If you're in the mood for some excellently prepared barbecue this is the spot to have it either order it and bring it home or sit outside here at a picnic table and enjoy it immediately.I highly recommend this barbecue joint.

I stopped by last week and picked up the 1/2 lb of chopped beef; it was very chewy and not edible. Very disappointing for the amount of time I waited in line.

I’ve been looking for great bbq for a long time back home and have been unsuccessful . Saw this place while on vacation and knew we had to stop. It had my 3 keys to a great bbq spot. 1. Long line, 2. Smokehouse you can see smoking as you drive by, and 3. Very unassuming look about the place. From the first bite of the ribs I knew we doing a gem. We tried the ribs, chicken, chopped pork, and chopped beef. All were cooked perfectly. The meet was moist with great flavor. The sides were equally delicious. The rough chop coleslaw was a great addition to the meal. If you like baked beans, this is your place. I’m not usually a fan of baked beans, but let me tell you, I couldn’t stop eating these baked beans. They were outstanding. The best part of all. The staff was very friendly and delightful to interact with. Eli’s is now a must stop on our FL trips and should be on yours too.

Got about a 1-inch high stack of gristle in my $8.50 chopped beef sandwich today. Very disappointing. If this happens to you, your time waiting in line to complain will not be worth it. BUT, around the corner @ the pickup window is an employee whose attention you can get immediately. Show them the mess. They won't fix the problem if customers don't complain.
