We came in this morning 8/2 just before 8am with a 5 year old in tow. There were several people in the shop and a couple outside. You can tell the shop has their regulars that enjoy the atmosphere and drinks. I got the “Chai Me a River” chiller (honestly the best thing I have ever had), my sister got a iced white mocha, and my nephew got one of the Blueberry Bonanza fruit smoothies and a chocolate croissant. Everyone loved their drinks, but my nephew wasn’t crazy for the pastry. I think it’s because his taste buds aren’t fully developed because it was delicious. I had never been here before, but I can tell you that I will for SURE be back any time I am in town. This shop is super cute and the vibe is exactly what you would expect from a small independent coffee shop. I can’t wait to come back and try their wine selection!
Quaint and personable; Cork & Beans offers just what you think it does. Fresh coffees and wines that are absolutely delicious. The Italian scenery fits perfectly as you're near the oceanside. If you're traveling through Dunedin and you require a great priced cup of coffee, latte, cappuccino or a sit down with a fine glass of wine, this is the place to be.
Bought lunch down the street- Stopped here for coffee x2 and the barista (owner?) told us we couldn’t eat inside or out, even though we were paying customers and there was literally no one else there.I understand they sell food, but come on….I’ll be going to the coffee shop across the street in the future.
If I could give 10 Stars I would. I visit Dunedin fairly often and this is the BEST coffee I have found when I’m there. I drink espresso, and everywhere else downtown is very bitter and almost undrinkable. The espresso here is consistently perfect. In the evening I will stop in for a happy hour beer and enjoy talking with the regulars. They make you feel like family. You cannot go wrong with a lavender mimosa either. It’s always service with a smile!!!
This place was our home whilst on vacation from the UK
Their coffee may be great (I've never tried it), but the scrambled eggs with bacon on toast for $9.15 was awful. The bread was some kind of multigrain that was barely toasted. Two tiny slices of bacon and everything way too salty. I'm not sure what kind of cheese it was, but it seemed like processed white American. I could get an entire breakfast meal at Wendy's with coffee and potatoes for around $7.
I come here all the time and the coffee and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is very cozy. The people are very inclusive. Also, we are all helping the owner out because she has been having back pain issues. I actually let the owner pick my flavor most of the time. She never disappoints ?
Enjoying my favorite hot coffee while visiting my daughter and son in law. My husband and I love Cork and Beans! Best coffee in Dunedin!
Great place to have anything you'd like to sip on. Coffee options go on for ever. And the wine options have me thinking I need to expand my horizons. Perfect location in the heart of downtown Dunedin. The owner/staff make me feel like I'm sitting in my kitchen relaxing. Awesome Vibe!
There is a place in Dunedin that is a must go to when you are downtown. It’s like stepping into a little code in Italy. Owned by the sweetest woman you will ever meet. This person works incredibly long hours and know every locals coffee type or preferred wine She serves great sandwiches for breakfast and lunch and will make specialties if you ask. The coffee is amazing and always done right and if you need help deciding she will spend the time as busy as she is to explain the whole menu. Just know that she could be serving 10 people at once so be a little patient she will get it done and the wait will be worth it. I can’t say enough about the comfort and being so welcome when going to Cork n Bean. Make it a must on your bucket list.
