We visit Dunedin about 2-3 times a year and the Clear Sky Draught House is one of the few places that we visit each time we are here. The food is very tasty, prices are competitive with other eateries and the service is always good. We will definitely be back the next time we are down in the area.

We started with Wings and Brisket brussels sprouts. The wings were decent size and cooked nicely. The high-octane sauce, the hottest on they had, was not very hot and it had a tangy tickle (sliver hotter than a typical hot). The brisket on the sprouts was juicy and flavorful and the sprouts were deep fried. We split a brisket grilled cheese and a brisket sandwich called Brisket Bomb. The brisket bomb had tomato, cheddar, and coleslaw on a bun. The grilled cheese had 3 cheeses and slaw on toasty buttery bread. Both were good but I wished the grilled cheese was more cheesy and gooey. Overall, it was a great lunch and looking forward to checking out other items on their menu.

Nice place great food and nice service

Fish and chips was a winner! The batter was light and crispy. The fish was fresh tasting. The portions were substantial. The mango coleslaw was my favorite non-traditional coleslaw. It was a crunchy veggie side that complimented the fish. The Cuban wasn’t our favorite interpretation. We prefer more thin sliced meats along with a much more pressed sandwich end result. The day we were there they didn’t have any onion rings only onion straws. We all know supply chains have been impacted and that weekend it was the onion’s turn. We recommend sticking with the fries until the onions are back in the ring, the onion ring! The service was prompt and courteous. The manager was attentive, friendly and helpful. The parking lot is a bit cramped, so I would not recommend oversized trucks or large SUV’s enter unless the lot isn’t full when you arrive. There is plenty of off the street parking.

I came an hour before they closed. I sat at the outside bar with my friend. The bartender informed me right away it was last call for full food menu. I appreciated that. My friend ordered avocado fries which were very good! I ordered 2 glasses of champagne and she ordered a draft beer. The draft beer price was amazing! It was only $3.50! On the menu my drink was priced at $6 then when the bill was brought was charged $8. I asked why and informed me that all their prices had been raised they just hadn't gotten around to updating the menus. I feel like that is something you let your customers know when you hand them the menu just to avoid confusion like that! That's the reason I give it 4 stars and not 5. Also because I didn't try much of their food to be able to give a true 5 star.

This is a nice big restaurant which is sectioned off so you don’t feel you’re in a big room! Great atmosphere and suitable for families. There is a great varied menu. We had the fried Green tomatoes, devilled eggs for appetisers and steaks for our mains cooked as we had asked. It’s a busy place but definitely worth a wait if you have to.

Great food, great service. It was obvious they were fully staffed for service. I wondered abt it and the bartender said the owner was wonderful. It shows. This is how a business should be run.

This is the place to go for tasty food, reasonable prices and an extensive draft beer selection. The wait staff is efficient, attentive and kind. They also have an entertaining trivia night every Monday. Pro tip: parking in the lot near the restaurant is tight, but there's plenty of parking in their back lot or on the street.

What a great find this place was! Amazing menu, really good service, lots of beers on tap, and our food was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Great menu, outstanding service! Alex, our waiter, was superb and full of enthusiasm. Huge menu and bar selections. Food is delicious. Parking can be a challenge but worth it. Don’t miss it.
