My family has been waiting for a good Mexican Restaurant to come too the Palm Harbor/Dunedin area for years. There have been others but none of them ever stacked up to our standards. Every once in a blue moon we'd go to Carmelita's in Largo cause it was that good. Recently we were in Dunedin and noticed Carmelita's was now in our area. What a awesome surprise and we've been there several times since we noticed them being in Dunedin now. The food and atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly, basically everything you'd want in a Mexican Restaurant. I recommend to anyone interested, go check them out! You won't be disappointed.
First time there was really impressed with the restaurant truly authentic cuisine great waitstaff great food local friendly place to go will coming back and recommend people visit this beautiful place, thank you for your great service ??❤️
The food here was just okay. My enchiladas were heavily doused with chili powder to the point that was all I could taste! The salsa was nothing to get excited about. I am a Mexican rice fanatic, and that was pretty good! And their charro beans were really good as well. The service was excellent!
2 for 1 Margaretas on Mondays...and they are good. food is nice and hot and delicious
1ST TIME IN... Had a Mexican Pizza, the spicy pork chimichanga and chicken enchiladas.Monday was 2 for 1 margaritas..BONUS!!!. The server Ray was awesome. GREAT SERVICEWe really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.Oh and the chocolate churros were great too ...
Received beef tacos and ordered a quesadilla. Not only that, but got a side of guac and lettuce scraps on the bottom of the container.
I was there on a Friday night and I got spinach enchilada with rice and black beans and glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I was pleased with the freshness of the meal. Next time I go I will get maybe steak fajitas but I think the food here is pretty good.
Just okay. Everything was very bland. Even the street tacos were almost flavorless. It wasn't just me, all 5 of us thought there was little flavor to anything. The service was great, though!
I was exhausted from the day, hungry....I decided on Mexican...beef fajitas. Made it home with my food...and no tortillas. Called them and was told they realized it, rushed out but I'd already gone. An A for effort, I suppose. I did leave a tip, by the way.I made it back home, heated up my food...because by now it was cold. The "salsa" tasted like tomato sauce and it had sliced scallion onions in it. The beef strips (I did try one before heating it up) was were tough. I was so ravenous by the time I made it home with the tortillas that I begrudgingly ate one. My pup will have a treat in the morning (i.e. remainder of the beef strips).I have been there previously and I can say the margaritas are tasty. Guess I should have just popped in,, had one of those and just made dinner at home.Not a happy camper. Just needed to vent. I'm sure their other customers have great experiences.
Yummy yummy..in my tummy! Love their food. We celebrated my BIL's birthday, had our own room in the back! It was a great time! They had him wear a sombrero hat and the Carmelita's team sang him happy birthday! Great place for a celebration great food! Great friendly service!!
