We so wanted to love this vacation as it was our first family vacation in 3 years. The venue was rough. One bedroom had a cracked window floor to ceiling, the tub took hours to drain (we called maintenance and they came within the day), there is only one towel rack in the bathroom and that one kept falling off the wall. One living room chair was broken at the base (unusable), 2 patio doors didn't open due to the rusted track beneath the door, the living room remotes didn't work...but we could control the TV from the wall unit itself, one elevator was out for 1.5 days, the main bedroom mattress sunk in the middle, and we purchased a $45 bottle of wine from the restaurant that was pure vinegar. The staff was extremely friendly and responsive when we did call. This was an expensive vacation for us and we ended up leaving early.
Overall the experience was good. The room we got was a 2 bedroom. It literally felt like your own apartment. The kitchen was well stocked had drinking glasses ,silverware, pots and pans, coffee machine, plates and bowl they even had a cutting board. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. The place was very clean . The beds could use some upgrade but everything else seemed updated. The view we had from patio was perfect it was facing the pool and the beach. The reason I gave 4 stars was the lack of luggage carts available you either had to make multiple trips or have everyone carry more than they could handle to avoid the multiple trips. The other reason was the hours at their restaurant/bar. I went to order something to eat friday night like at 930pm to find out kitchen closes at 9pm. Was shocked being it was a weekend. The bar closes pretty early too. The pool is a very nice size the area is very spacious. We'd finish our nights at the pool. We would definitely comeback and stay here again.
When first arriving here after our drive, they front desk was very friendly, thorough, and explained all the amenities and how to get to our room. We did not reserve our room through their site, we did go through Airbnb, but i can speak on the amenities. They were clean and well kept. I frequently saw employees scouting the grounds to ensure things were kept that way. For me, our room could use some more updating, but that i don’t believe is a reflection of the resort itself. They have a trash room where guests can dispose of their items as well as a shuttle service. Very nice place overall!
Our room was great. The rest of our family did not get a great room. We booked through booking.com and they booked through Compass Resorts. Our unit was very welcoming and cared about our needs and was a really nice unit. It does appear that a lot of units have outdated and uncomfortable furniture. However, our bed was roomy and comfortable. The resort needs upgrading. It takes forever for the water to get hot if it ever does get hot. The tables at the pool have no umbrellas which wouldn't be a big problem if there were enough big tables, which there aren't, that had holes in them to insert umbrellas. None of the tables will hold an umbrella. The coffee house has one small microwave. It should have at least 3 bigger microwaves. This one holds one item so you are standing in line for awhile waiting on people to microwave their food. The breakfast sandwiches have to be nuked. There is a long walk from the garage to the rooms with carts being very scarce. We stayed Saturday to Saturday and found a cart to use only when we checked out. Carrying a case of water and a heavy cooler with our catch was very daunting. We do not mind walking but when you have arm loads of stuff it becomes difficult. I don't believe my husband and I will stay here again unless the resort gets updated.
The resort itself was decent. However, if you do not book through Compass- forget customer service at the front desk. They were rude and obnoxious. We stayed in room 2207 at The Palms of Destin and unfortunately for us, upon walking into our room at 4:06pm we arrived to an unclean room. It was in the same condition from the guests the night before. It is clear the management company and The Palms itself has no process to ensure a room is clean before issuing a guest a key. My family had to wait and do nothing while housekeeping “cleaned” our room. The management company never answers when you call, instead you wait for a call back. Which is frustrating especially in a situation like ours. There were 3 face towels in a room which slept 6 which made showering interesting. In addition, the dryer did not work. It took 4-5 cycles to dry a couple of items and was so loud we could only run it while we were away. Which made showering more interesting as we could not wash our three face towels fast enough. The pillows on the beds were old and worn. The room was decently clean and in decent repair, but I wasn’t amazed or impressed.I might stay at The Palms again but I will never book through Destiny.

Location to Henderson State Beach was very convenient and the beach is clean and beautiful! Our condo had minor flaws, not perfect, but it was clean and comfortable. This was an Airbnb rental and our hosts were amazing! Since it is a high touristy area, the rental was high, but I am glad we splurged a bit. The pools were great too. I don't have an opinion on the restaurants on site. You do pay extra to stay in Destin, but I'm not disappointed, we had a great time!
We stayed here for a long weekend. When we arrived we decided to Valet, thank goodness we did. If you have alot of luggage you will never get it to your room without using the valet. The girls that work valet are great, but I had to help load our cart! We were told if we wanted to walk around the parking garage and look for a gray cart we could use that instead of using the Valet. There were no carts to be found. Also, there is NO lazy river as advertised, and it is NOT a 10 minute walk to the beach. The Good Vibes rest. is good but understaffed. And I know everywhere is understaffed, but when you have to wait in line for 20-30 minutes to get a drink, then shorten the menu. I read there was a sports bar, but we never found it. The pool is beautiful but no adult supervision, both times we were in the pool we were literally the only adults in it. Kids of all ages running around, into us, inpolite, someone should monitor this. We will not be back.
Top notch. Friendly staff. The one thing not happy with was no luggage carts to rooms unless accompanied by staff to insure cart was returned. I get it though. Too many guests do not make an effort to return carts promptly for other arriving or departing guess. I would and will book again in the future.
We stayed here for vacation. The grounds are wonderful. Check in was quick and easy. They actually had our room ready way before check in which was nice. The shuttle they offer is very nice. You can walk to the beach. Its about a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel is in a great area with alot of restaurants and things to do around it. Our room was very nice and clean. We would stay here again.
