It’s okay. Small dining area. Loud music. After 10pm it’s a night club ?♀️You go inside, order from the menu while waiting in line, pay, get your drinks, the ladies hand you a buzzer to notify you once your food is ready, & you find yourself a place to sit. Tacos have a lot of meat but it’s in chunks… Pastor is not good. I ordered chicken tacos that was better. Salsa is spicy & good. Side Salad is good. The horchata is okay. I got a margarita (tasty mango margarita) but the bar tender didn’t really acknowledge me he just gave me my drink I feel like the guy handing us the food was more nicer & talked more than him. Pay extra for salsa & chips.

If you eat here be prepared to wait. Our food took over an hour to be cooked. The food was delicious though. I ordered the pollo asado and it came with a salad, rice and beans. You order at a counter then they give you a buzzer and you go sit down. It was very busy so we waited awhile. The atmosphere was great but like I said… you will have to wait especially around lunch time.
Highly recommend this place. Food was amazing and service was good. It won’t disappoint.
This his place is spectacular. Expect to order and pay before you sit. The food is out of this world.

This place has been a second home the past year. Herman, the owner, is always here with a smile on his face happy to serve up some food and drinks at the bar. Not your typical Mexican restaurant, he built the menu himself so it's unlike anything else you'll find in the area. The food is great but you'll keep going back for the people!
The owners and staff at Mi Gente make their regulars feel like family. Their kindness is genuine and their food is excellent! Love their carne asada tacos. SO good! If you get Mexican food while in Destin, get it at Mi Gente. These folks will treat you right. It’s definitely my favorite restaurant in Destin, hands down.
Mi Gente is more than a supermarket or restaurant. Mi Gente is a place where Herman makes you feel like you're part of the family. There will never be another restaurant that makes us feel more at home than this establishment. The food here is absolutely amazing. Some of the best food we have ever had the pleasure of eating. Salsa bar, tacos, burritos, fajitas, and the best dang mojitos you will EVER have. This place deserves a 10/5 because it is too perfect. Get to know the owner. He's fantastic! Go here ASAP!
