My husband, two of our tween grandchildren and I decided to eat lunch at Bitterroot, today. The restaurant is clean. The restrooms are clean and well-stocked. I love the cute floors, in the bathrooms! The water is delicious, especially notable in Destin. The music is upbeat but unobtrusive. Sadly, a table of four ladies seated next to us are very loud, with screeching laughter that suggests they have over-imbibed the wine they are being served. They are especially noticeable in a calm, classy restaurant, like Bitterroot. Our tweens are far better behaved. Service is a bit slow, due to being short-handed. My husband and I started with a cheese and charcuterie plate that was good. Our grandchildren and I loved our burgers and fries! My husband sent back his spaghetti bolognese, because he thought the noodles needed to be cooked longer. It was removed from our bill. I like less-done al dente noodles, but we couldn't swap entrees because he hates the onions that came on my burger. He ordered a burger, instead. He enjoyed it. My coffee was strong and smooth; delicious! The spacious parking lot is well-lit and clean. Recommended!
Can’t recommend this place enough — we came for my graduation celebration and enjoyed every bite of food. Loved the arancini and whipped ricotta for appetizers. The short rib was the best of the entrees. The ambiance is beautiful but will warn you that the restaurant is kept a little warm (especially for Florida)— we were sat right by the thermostat which read 77 degrees. Otherwise, great meal and will be returning!
I can't rave about this place enough! We were sat right away when we arrived after going to 3 different places first and not being able to get a table anywhere else without over an hour wait. Our kids asked for something that wasn't even on the menu, yet their staff accommodated our children's wishes without a second thought and served them their food first without having to be asked. All of the adult entrees were amazing! They were full of flavor and hot when served. The atmosphere was high end and very classy. The staff really went above and beyond to make our experience there exceptional.
Comfortable and cozy atmosphere for a date night. Delicious cocktails and fantastic service. I got the Shrimp and Prosciutto and hubs ordered the Wagyu Short Rib and we shared the Goat Cheese Caesar and the Five Pepper Shrimp as appetizers and each one was fantastic! Get the cookie bar dessert if you’re a fan of chocolate. The Bread pudding was incredible. We will be telling all our family and friends about this and WILL be back!
We had been on the road for 3 hours and were tired but starving. We did a google search and found Bitterroot. So that you know, the outside of the restaurant isn't glitzy or glamorous, and it's in a shopping center. Now never judge a book by its cover is true in this instance. We walked in and were lucky enough to get a bar seat. This magical, fantastic eatery has carefully crafted cocktails and high-end cuisine. We had the BALSAMIC BRAISED SHORT RIB - Wagyu Short Rib, Mirepoix, Potato Confit, over a bed of beautiful carrots and potatoes and theFILET - Pepper Crusted Filet, Ranatza Farm Cauliflower Mash,Flashed Asparagus, Demi-Glace. They state that they aim to lead by example and deliver excellence. We can attest to that as we are still enjoying the memory of that thoughtfully crafted, fresh dining experience. Bon Appetite!

I recently celebrated my Anniversary and took a trip to Bitterroot for dinner the very first time and I will 100% be back! The staff was so friendly, and made sure our experience was special. We shared the cheese and charcuterie. My boyfriend got the short rib and I got the filet and loved every bite! Thanks bitterroot for a great dinner :)
So I came here to catch up with a friend that recently moved to Destin, and I was blown away with the food and service here. My friend and I started with the whipped ricotta dip and having it with the naan bread was amazing. I then ordered the steak frites while my friend ordered the short rib sandwich and both were out of this world amazing. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is coming to Destin on vacation.
and the menu options are unlike most restaurants in the area, it felt really upscale and the ambiance was really cool, the lighting and the windows just are unlike other eating experiences i’ve had in the area. and the food matched it all, i sampled from everyone’s plate and tried ratatouille, prime rib, and crab, they were all great! definitely revisiting
