Horrific experience with the classless owner of the restaurant, who made no attempt to accommodate my party for a reservation that was not recorded when it was made. The owner was very defensive, rude, and confrontational. A simply shockingly awful experience with an individual who has no place in the service business. I will be certain to let my nearby community know about my abominable experience….the owner’s response is completely inaccurate. If you look at other one-star reviews there is consistency with my awful service experience.
YellowTail was a great experience! The service was excellent and the food was just so fresh tasting. We ordered Wonton soup, and NY strip tatami appetizers, both were excellent! My wife and I each had the cedar planked salmon and my son the poke bowl! For dessert we had the cinnamon fried donuts! Sinful for sure. My only suggestion would be to expand the beer menu maybe with some local beers! Otherwise will head back soon!
The only dissatisfaction I had was that when we got there, party of four, two tables of four were available outside, wanted the one in the corner out of the way. Said we could not sit there for whatever reason, but asked nicely again and said no. Owner came out and was really very not customer friendly, said it was reserved. No sign, I could understand reserved tables inside but with covid issues wanted to be away from crowd. Enjoyed the food though, waitress was nice. Would come back when boss has day off lol.
Petty Management! 1st time diners for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were seated in a 1/2 empty restaurant at a 2-seater table with chairs sitting across from each other. We had a reservation at 5:30pm (the place opens at 5pm so it could explain why the restaurant wasn't so busy). We let the restaurant know immediately that we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and asked if we could have a table where 2 chairs could be next to each other. Both the manager and his wife told us "no" and claimed that it is a Saturday night and they were overbooked, yet there were several 4-seater tables that remained vacant the entire time we ate dinner. The party next to us was seated shortly after we arrived and it was a 4-seater table, yet only 2 guests were dining. We had asked for this specific table when we arrived, but were refused by the management. We were hungry so we stayed, but were disappointed. The food was delicious and our server, William, was very accommodating and turned our table for us & treated us well for our romantic anniversary dinner. After dinner, I informed the manager's wife that there were still 4-seater tables available & told her about the couple next to us and how a little extra accommodation would have gone a long way. However, she only apologized that the person who seated the other couple did an incorrect action and didn't feel truly sorry for not assisting us for our wedding anniversary. In fact, she kept insisting that there are other guests coming to fill the other 4-seating tables, but we were already leaving so why should that matter?! BAD MANAGEMENT, BUT EXCELLENT FOOD & GREAT SERVICE FROM WILLIAM!
The food is consistently delicious! And we always feel welcomed and appreciated for being a return customer! Our last visit we ordered spring rolls and ribs as appetizers, and my go to green curry chicken for dinner but ended up taking that home. That was a win-win situation because it was great the following day!
Some of the very best Asian Fusion I've had in SoFlo. Almost as good as NY Chinese restaurants. Handsome decor, overworked wait staff, all reasonably priced.
Stay away from this restaurant. The service is horrible. The manager was extremely rude and not accommodating. The food was mediocre at best. Many other better Asian options is the area
Sushi was mediocre and took over an hour for a few rolls. When I inquired with the manager she said “there were 5 of us” as some excuse to have to wait 45 minutes for a salad and edamame as an appetizer. Will never come back here as the manager was rude and did nothing to remotely compensate us. Stay awa and try ganzo nearby.
The food quality was not that great. I had wonton soup and steamed pork gyoza. Both were average in taste. The Sushi I ordered (Super Nami & Dragon roll) were also nothing special. The food was a little pricey as well. Maybe some of the other menu items are better, but I don't think I will try again.
This is my go to restaurant when I want Omigaze and a terrific place for date night with my wife., jo Ann and Marie are two outstanding enhancement to the extraordinary food.
