Excellent spot in Downtown Delray. The drinks are fantastic and food is even better. We start with the house bread and usually get a pizza (the Bianca is great) and a pasta (the veal chop is amazing). Love to try different items from the seasonal menu as well. Always finish with the tiramisu. Prices are great. Although they don’t take reservations, we always manage to get a table. Great atmosphere and staff! Highly recommend.
Finally got around to trying RD--we shy away from restaurants that don't take reservations--after hearing great things for the longest time. Located next to The Ray in the Pineapple Grove section of Delray (love this neighborhood, loaded with great dining choices). Walked in at 6pm with many tables available, sat in the rear "garden". By 6:45...packed! Must agree, deservedly so. Chef/owner Suzanne Perrotto is serving up incredibly flavorful dishes, with impeccable, quality ingredients, and more than ample portions. You won't leave hungry. Taste sensations abound. Amazing pizza (mushroom and galloni prosciutto!). Highly recommend jumbo shrimp (they were) fra diavolo--best I've ever tasted!--seared scallop pappardelle, and bolognese pappardelle topped with ricotta. We were all swooning. By the looks on diners' faces, you can't go wrong with ANY dish. A very happy crowd, including at the convivial bar. Our server, Sarah, was a delight and very professional. Wine list is well sourced and reasonable, covering price points to satisfy any budget. We were all too full for coffee or dessert, so can't comment. Two quibbles: no bread or munchies offered; drinks are a bit skimpy. We will be returning regularly, throwing aside our "reservation only" policy--Rose's is well worth it. We're hooked! I am going to start by saying someone positive...the food is outstanding. I cannot rave about it enough. Just so delicious and great portions. The chef is outstanding!! If you dont care about service or the hospitality, and just want to go for great food...this is your place! Heck, just do take out. The chefs deserve it! OTHERWISE....dont bother. The blonde hostess/manager is awful! Just so so rude. She treated me and my party with such disrespect. Like we were just another number walking in. Her attitude was just nasty. She didnt accommodate our simple requests, we felt very unwelcomed. If it wasnt for the food, we would have walked right out and went to Lulu's, they are actually nice.
I gave it two stars for more than that. Read my Yelp review! Food is truly sub par tonight. The hostess / waitress was nasty and needs lessons in both areas especially waitressing. The owners need to seriously look into their staffs personality and behavior. They are Not happy campers.
True Italian food. Everything we had was excellent! Can’t wait to dine here again.
