Visited this restaurant while vacationing in Delray. Good choice. We started with a calamari appetizer. Calamari was flavorful but I would have liked to have seen a few more tentacles on the plate. My dining companion and I both ordered the red snapper with champagne risotto. I ordered mine with the Mediterranean sauce which was optional on this particular evening while my friend ordered with the standard sauce. Both were delicious. Fish was cooked to perfection. For dessert we enjoyed a slice of key lime pie which is a must for me while visiting Florida. The restaurant itself is small but there is something very special about the ambiance of this restaurant. Staff are welcoming, do not rush you and almost make you feel like family. All in all it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Delray.

The best restaurant in Delray! From the moment we walked in Mathew greeted us and he was so welcoming and hospitable. Our server Courtney helped us choose the best wine to go with our meals. Everything was cooked to perfection! We will be back again!

Had a wonderful time here for our 10 year anniversary. We didn't want anything too outrageously fancy but still nice. This place was a perfect quaint little spot. It had upscale food, decent prices, but I didnt feel out of place not being all dolled up in heels, dress, and full makeup. The decor is beautiful. The food was amazing! The chef shuked oysters on the side of the bar which was really cool. We had calamari with a spicy jelly which was yummy. I had the snapper for dinner. It was fresh, moist, and delicious. Our bartender was so nice and friendly she suggested the bread pudding for dessert which was perfect! Thankyou so much!

Just moved here had questions about the menu the waitress was helpful for the first two questions than started getting rude and rushing. My husband is a big seafood lover and had some questions on a few different things on the menu again she answered a question than got annoyed so he ended up choosing the steak and shrimp was told he would get extra shrimp because he didn't want the crab cake they said that's not a problem he asked for his filets to be cooked medium. I ordered the rib plate, the ribs were fine but the fries where burnt. the corn wasn't cooked and cold. My husband's food came out and immediately he realized it's not what he wanted to order asked if he could switch his order and the waitress looked at him with an attitude and said no my boss won't allow it because we will have to throw it out. I have never been told at any restaurant that the food I order can't be sent back because I didn't like it. On top of that the steaks were cooked rare the "extra" shrimp was 1 or 2 pieces he had in total 3 shrimp. Overall experience was horrible we will not be coming back almost got up and walked out that's how rude the service and experience was here we got there at 1:30 and they close at 3 probably has alot to do with the experience as well if you don't like dealing with people and question get out of the service industry.

My husband and I went without a reservation but were able to be seated outside on the sidewalk. It was a pleasant night, so it was enjoyable. My husband got the grouper which he enjoyed. I opted for the roasted chicken breast with white bean ragout and mashed potatoes. The flavor was very good, but the chicken was tough. I had key lime pie for dessert and loved it. Our servers were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. Loved that this was a long standing, private owned restaurant rather than a huge food chain.

Whenever I'm passing through Delray, I make a point of stopping at J&J, a low-key, seafood-focused gem among the larger, louder tourist magnets on Atlantic Avenue. I recently stopped by for lunch after 5 years away and was thrilled to see they haven't lost a step, still as fresh and inventive as ever. Worth a drive from around South Florida.

We love J&J! It's worth the drive. Personalize, friendly service...no rush lunch. The waitress was great as we're patrons friendly. You really feel the family love. Great homemade desserts too. Key lime pie and bread pudding like grandma made. Everyone liked what they ordered. Calamari, mahi mahi sandwiches salad. Everything was great. Highly recommend

Service could not have been better. The interior finishes and cleanliness were all very comfortable. Three of us got the grouper on mashed potatoes with asparagus. My wife's potatoes were a bit cold and the grouper and shrimp were all slightly overcooked and dry. My wife told the server that her potatoes were cold and she was brought new potatoes that were piping hot. The food was just not of a quality that we were accustomed to for that price point.

Great food, just the right portion. Old Delray Beach vibe and very relaxing. Fresh seafood and coming to Delray from the northeast the seafood was out of this world.

This is not a "dive" but it's not an uppity "place to be on The Avenue". Great seafood presented without pretension. Wonderful personable service. I just wish they served mixed drinks!
