Great food, friendly staff!
I like going here every once and a while when the weather is nice. Had lunch on Saturday before Memorial day with my brother and sat outside. The service can be spotty so I was glad to get fast service and the food was freshly made. Gator bites are really good with their gator sauce. It's a relaxing place to enjoy good seafood on the water.
Their frog legs are awesome. Their hush puppies tasted real good. But they were heavy and dense. They could have used a little baking powder and baking soda. The cod nuggets were very good. The beverages taste of hard water, but not too bad. Friendly, clean atmosphere. Our grandson loved it. I thought the bar took up valuable space, but we don't drink alcohol. I will go back if I have the opportunity.

Gator bites were delicious,I grew up on the river. Been going to Shady Oak (Sloan's) ever since it first opened in the 60'S.
Food is good but kitchen not held up to basic food safety standards (first giveaway is everyone has painted nails including some cooks) most of the waitresses are very friendly and they do a good job, but if the owner (Tiena) is working she forces her staff to not only split the all tips evenly between ALL servers, she pockets a portion of the tips. I truly feel bad for the staff and for the regulars who are sold a good impression.
One of my favorite places to eat.Food is always great, friendly attentive staff and the view is spectacular.
Great fish dinner and the onion rings were the best.
Beautiful views of the river from this laid-back small restaurant. The food was tasty. It isn't easy to get to right now because of the bridge being replaced on route 44 but worth the trip.
