I was craving a delicious meal and received it. We ordered mozzarella caprese with fresh ripe tomatoes and delicious mozzarella with balsamic glaze. Fantastic! I then had penne a la vodka served Al dente. Excellent flavor. My husband ordered a personal Diablo pizza. Taste was fantastic but a little soggy in the middle. We took dessert home because we were full. We’d definitely come again!
I can say that this place was like no other. Busy Saturday night and we had THE BEST service. Ashley was someone I will not forget. Very interactive and so friendly with my family. All the food was so tasty. Next time we are in DeLand, this is the place we are coming to. Just a friendly warning Ashley! Thank you again so much
there are several Italian places in the DeLand area but unfortunately this isn’t one i’d necessarily recommend. we were greeted by a hostess and seated right away since it was empty but it was several minutes before a waitress came by to get our drink order. after our drinks arrived, we asked for a coupe more minutes to review the menu. we regretted that as the waitress didn’t come back for quite a while. we finally placed our order- i had the Eggplant Margarita pizza and my friend had the Baked Penne. as we waited for our order, the restaurant filled up and we noticed that all of the tables around us received a bread basket and bowl of olive oil but we did not. the waitress then arrived with my pizza a few minutes later but the Baked Penne didn’t come until almost 10 minutes after that. the crust on the pizza was good but the rest of the dough was thin and soggy. the slices of fried eggplant were more breading than eggplant. the Baked Penne was okay- the sauce was quite clumpy due to the ricotta and it didn’t have much flavor, seemed pretty under-seasoned. the overall vibe of the restaurant is that of a typical Italian-American place with Tuscan-style decor and murals, although, there was a specific artwork that i actually really liked. the staff was friendly, just seemed to be a little forgetful even before it filled up. unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first Italian place i’d recommend to someone in DeLand.
We had been going to this restaurant for years. The pizza is pretty good but lately not so much. Crust is amazing and crispy but toppings shrinking. In any of the pizzas that have basil as a topping, well I’ve hardly seen any basil on them and I have to ask for extra.About a month ago we got pizzas to go while we sat at persimmon Hollow nearby. We noted the price increases. The pizzas took twice as long as they told us and when my brussels sprouts pizza arrived, it was cold and instead of the normal thick sheets of pancetta and shaved brussels sprouts that were on the pizza there were shreds of brussels sprouts and a couple small chunks of pancetta. This was disappointing especially given the price increase.I called to complain and was offered another pizza. I wasn’t trying to get a free pizza and I didn’t want another pizza because I was starving but I just thought they should know in case someone needed training. The manager was rude to me and said OK and hung up.We decided to give the restaurant one more chance after this disappointing experience last month. Noted also price increases on drinks, wine up to $12. And the wine was a very strict 5 ounce pour, not a drop more. We get that food prices are going up and there is inflation but for the prices we paid for our pizzas and drinks we expect a first class atmosphere. The windows were open and the sun was shining in my eyes and when I asked them to close the blinds they closed half of them. There was a TV above us playing news. And we were sat in the corner near bathroom. It just did not have the feel of $18 pizza at $12 glass of wine. We will not be going back.
We just ate here today after visiting the Stetson Mansion. We were a group of 5 ladies. The menu has a good variety and is well priced. I had a great small pizza with one of the thinnest crusts I have ever had. I was delicious. My friends enjoyed the pannais and the salmon salad. We all enjoyed our meal. Our service was good
We were a group of 4 adults and 1 child. Between us, we ordered a Crimini Mushroom Pizza, Salmon Piccata, which came with Angel Hair Pasta, a garden salad, a Cheese Pizza, and an order of Calamari, which came with two mild sauces. We also had 4 cokes and shared a lava cake, with vanilla ice cream. High marks were given from the group, with special mention given to the Crimini Mushroom Pizza, the Lava Cake and the pasta. Our bill came to $107.00, before tip. We will return.
We received the friendliest greeting, when we walked in for lunch, from the two servers (Sadie and another lovely girl, with braids). Our pizza was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing. We will be back soon!
Interior is very dark. Wines are pricey. Pizza was good. Toppings were space. I have had better. Not bad...just average.
The pizza was really good here and this us coming from a born and raised New Yorker who knows good pizza. Probably one of the best I've tasted here in Florida. The menu looked good but I only tried the pizza. Service was equally good and the ambiance it warm and inviting. Nice decor and setting. I will certainly be returing and recommend a visit if you are in the area.
The pork chop dish is wonderful. Also a good lasagna. I did think the chicken parmesan was a little to thin. Over all a very nice dinner.
