I was craving manicotti and a Greek salad and ordered takeout. We Was very disappointed in both…the manicotti was beyond bland - clumps of stiff white cheese filling - very processed - with no herbs whatsoever (usually there would be some parsley/basil - something!) The salad was odd with beets and what seemed like (again)- heavily processed ham. My husband ordered spaghetti with meatballs and it too was bland and with too little sauce. I had their pizza once and it was very good but am sorry to say I don’t think I’d bother trying it again after this.
We love this place! Small and quaint but outstanding food and quick service. We went early on Valentine’s Day and got their special with a pizza, Greek salad, and breadsticks with Alfredo sauce. So yummy!
The deep dish is more like a hybrid between a hand tossed pizza and a Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Still very good. They have a vegan pizza option that our son really enjoys. Good selection of draft beers. The staff is super friendly. Definite repeat visits.
We LOVE Dobro's! Everyone gets treated like family here... There's always smiling faces between the staff & customers. We love to support local & this is as local as it gets. Great food to top it off, the fried cheesecake, alfredo, loaded waffles & calzone are some of our favorites. Please don't ever leave, we love you guys!
Stopped in with a friend for late lunch for third visit in a couple of months. Tried the gorganzola and steak salad with a great homemade lime dressing. Breadsticks are addicting. The friend had the spinach salad with homemade hot bacon dressing. Nothing was left. Everything delicious. Colleen took good care of our every need and made our visit even better. Very friendly folks. Look forward to going back, eventually eating our way through their menu. Yum!
They're a lovely little restaurant just outside Downtown with a strong menu and good service. The building is nothing assuming but the food is wonderful. Every time I've been I loved the good and I'm always excited to go back.
We ordered from Dobros Restaurant for the first time last night after hearing and reading about so many wonderful reviews of the food here. The pizza we ordered was very small (about 12" @$14.50 for pepperoni) The top looked beautiful and the crust was golden but the bottom of pizza was still white and barely cooked! We also ordered a 3 cheese Calzone, I could only taste and see Ricotta cheese and it had appeared to be deep fried! I have never had a deep fried calzone before! The food we ordered was eatable but mediocre at best. Don't understand the hype about this place at all! We won't be ordering from there again!?
I can't rave about this place enough!! Never a disappointmemt with the amazing food nor its great customer service! It always makes for a wonderful dining experience when the staff is attentive and friendly, with a large group, even when they are busy. Thanks for being a gem in DeLand!
With memories of our best pizzas ever at a couple of famous Chicago pizza restaurants, we came to Dobro's with great anticipation. The beginning was great. The salad was wonderful. Also the bread. But, when the pizza arrived, immediately the disappointment arrived. Nice looking with the tomatoes on top, but the total of the toppings was paper-thin. The crust was deep dish, the toppings were not. Rarely found any cheese, maybe a couple of tablespoons scattered around. The staff all were nice and pleasant, but the pizza has to be the rated worst we had ever had.
Delicious.!! Everything I try here is so good. Pinwheels are excellent, stuffed full. Very filling. Chicago pizza is out of this world. A new fav for sure. Even their Caesar salad was really good. I definitely have become a regular.
