Started with the intention of a different place, but ended up here. Was not disappointed with our decision. For a small business, what a huge performance. The service was top notch, helpful, friendly, and attentive. The food was fine dining quality and beyond delicious. The prices are above average but for the quality and service, worth every bit of what you pay.
Whenever I'm in Florida I always make a serious effort to come here. Dining here is just pure excellence and joyfully indulgent. The staff are exceedingly friendly and courteous. The food....is extraordinary. The way the chef blends flavors and ingredients is incredible.I had the pleasure of having the mushroom Flatbread for an appetizer. The portion was generous, and they seemed to extract every ounce of shroomy flavor goodness into them. For my main course, I had the ribeye which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The flavor...incredible. If you are in DeLand, and wish to have an exceedingly pleasurable dining experience, check this place out. You will want to make a reservation as this place gets to capacity quickly...and rightfully so.
My wife and I dined at Cress for their Valentine's Day 4 Course Meal. We drove from Orlando and stayed at the Courtyard downtown, walking distance from the restaurant. The food itself was superb, it exceeded expectations and was a fine dining experience. They have a great wine list, pair your meal with a bottle of Justin "Isosceles" Red Blend and you are golden. They were very busy and everyone hustling to get things done. Some reviewers complain about slow service, but if you're there for the food and to enjoy the night, you can't go wrong. These days every place is busy and as diners we should understand. Our server, Suran, was working really hard and running all around, had a great sense of humor, and food and wine knowledge. At the end of the night we thanked her for her awesome service and raved about the delicious meal, at which point she revealed she was the owner of Cress...our jaws dropped. Her husband Tom also owns/manages Cress and together they provide an amazing dining experience. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

We booked a special package for valentines dinner on the saturday before,We were told running behind no problem,We had 7:45 and were finally eating at 9:30 The food is great and waiters friendly but very disappointed for our special evening,We didnt get our glass of wine that was suppose to come with the package,Felt like after $200.00 plus meal and drinks maybe a complimentery glass of wine or something would have made us feel appreciated.
So delicious. Possibly best steak I’ve had in years! Up there with high end food worth every penny. Lovely waitstaff and calming atmosphere.
