ROACHES CRAWLING ON FOOD - according to the health department, which shut them down.Tropical Gourmet at 1061 Mason Ave. in Daytona Beach shut down on March 21.Inspectors found 14 violations, four of which were a high priority. Those violations included flying insects, roaches, including one crawling on food in the prep area, and an improperly stored toxic substance.A second visit happened on March 22. Officials found two violations, none of which were a high priority.A follow-up inspection is required, but the restaurant was allowed to reopen.
Rice was sour in spoiled four oxtail for 25 dollars
I never thought that I would find another place that had oxtails as good as the place I used to go that closed. I read the reviews on this one, and I was craving oxtail. Not only is it more delicious, but the portions are better as well, I got double cabbage, the prices are great as well. The service was excellent, and the time weight was not even more than 10 minutes. This is my next favorite place that I’ll be going to for oxtail.
Dont go here they charge your card extra thats not right pure scammers food nasty no taste and dry
horrible food !! my food was room temperature as if the food was sitting for a while and didn’t really have taste either . i paid $43 for a plate of oxtails and spicy jerk chicken . chicken had a lot of mini bones and oxtails were mostly fatty with no meat. definitely would not recommend eating here ! pictures may look good , but wasn’t at all!
So I just paid like $16 for 3 oxtail not worth the money at all. When I asked the lady at the front register is that all I get for $16 she laughed and said yes. I should of asked for my money back but next time I will just know better. NEVER STOP HERE AGAIN PERIOD!!!!!
Simply from the smell i knew the oxtails would be good and that they were for sure

This place is NOT what it used to be. Overpriced, they forgot one of my sides, the rice and beans were dried out and disgusting. There was a dead baby roach in the top of my soda can.
