I thought the large fish dinners I got where very good. Only issue I had was the menu on internet is not the same as in restaurant. The price was $3 more per dinner and you didn't get the coleslaw. Should still get coleslaw, any who, the value was good and fish was excellent.
Carry out only. In the hood with no ambience or personality from staff but a good fish sandwich at a decent price. Worth a stop
The food was ok. The place seem to be clean inside but the outer area was rundown. The glass doors definitely needed a good cleaning. I had some reservation about the place and its appearance.
Horrible. Simply. Granted everyone has different taste and expectations of taste but, generally food is supposed to be palletable. Perhaps there was an explanation why , maybe time of day, or who’s preparing and still that falls on the restaurant’s responsibility. Shame on you TJ… you’re name and repetutation is attached to that less than satisfactory meal. Maybe you’re an urban legend or something to ppl here but, you’re not in comparison to restaurants and you should advertise anything Fried let alone gizzards. That was a total waste of time eating & my money!
0 STARS!!! Worst ever! My food was beyond greasy! Tasted like old grease at that. I'm so disappointed in this place! Truly had my hopes up! Never again will I order. Highly DO NOT RECOMMENDED! You've failed me after wanting food from you for months! Just close it down! Complete waste of $25! Close this place! Don't eat here! Wish I can give 0 Stars!
I cannot say enough about the quality and jaw dropping taste and texture of the food here. The chicken livers, chicken tenders, okra, catfish and French fries were beyond anything that I can get in Volusia county. Reminds me when I lived in Cleveland and would go to places for similar cuisine. This restaurant surpasses those places as everything is hot, even the fries which sometimes would not be at these other places. No place in Volusia or Central Florida touches TJs for Fried Chicken, Fired Livers, Okra and Fried Catfish. Number 1. Do not hesitate to visit when you are in Daytona. I used the web to order and it was seamless. The owner prepared and cooked the food himself and he knows what he is doing. This from a former Army cook and former professional Sous chef in many different restaurants
TJ's has the best Fried Catfish and my Husband loves their Hot Wings. I have been told their Fried Chicken is great also.
Just knew this had to be the place after reading the reviews, NOT!! I ordered a whitting filet dinner and it was awful. Fish was thin and fried hard and greasy. Fries were even awful. It was obvious that they order the poorest quality of foods.NEVER AGAIN!
I went for catfish. The catfish did not taste like catfish. The breading was too thick. The French fries were seasoned and good.
Great fish, however the chicken was over cooked. Also they forgot to include my sides, coleslaw and potato salad. Love the place overall, been there 2x. This time was a little disappointing.
