Don't try to go here on your lunch hour. My co-workers and I arrived at 12:05 We were brought our drinks and waitress walked away without taking our order. We mentioned we were on our lunch hour when we ordered about 12:15. Asked for our check before we even were served our food to expedite getting out of there in time. At 12:45 waitress said our food was coming up, and we told her to put them in "to go" boxes because we had to leave at 12:50. Got my wings and they were burned. I mean completely black. That is not grilled, they were burned. Waitress was very accommodating and refunded my money, but I left without lunch. Also the wings were very expensive. $17.99 for 10 wings. They were originally $13.99. Charged me $3.00 extra for all drumettes, and then an extra $1.00 for grilled, which were burnt.I will say my coworker got some fried cheese curds as an appetizer, which came out very quickly, and was delicious. Also, the server named Maya was very nice and apologetic about us not getting our food.I will give it one more try, so stay tuned, but we will call in our order before we leave work. Hopefully that will take care of the time issue.
Back in the 2000s when I was going to college at Riddle, I lived nearby and used to eat here all the time. I remember having some of the best meals, most delicious wings and good times of my life in this hidden gem. I was very fortunate to return to Daytona Beach recently and made it a priority to swing by South Turn with my girl...Understand I have been far and wide across this world and have conousourred wings of all styles, traditions and impressions. I have dined at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo where they were born and had wings from Mr. Flay himself. I will go to my grave triumphantly stating those from South Turn are the finest I have ever had. There is a certain artistry in having them double tossed on the hot iron skillet where a char is applied before being placed before you. Having eaten here, I can check a regret off the list before I die.
Dark but a fun place to decompress. Music, drinks are great service is awesome they have pool tables and darks perfect place to take a date or just have a get together with a few friends
I waited 25 minutes before they ever took my order & I even asked a waitress could I order & she told me to wait then immediately helped a white couple who came n AFTER me... food is very good but if you’re a person of color unfortunately you not get the best service or a timely order
Under new management place has gone down hill... we had been going here for over 7 years...Food is way over cooked and chard and thats all you can taste burnt food! If you order medium rare you get well ( or Jerky like) on everything including chicken! Wings used to be the best in town now over cooked and petrified and over priced. This is AWFUL, so disappointing it used to be our favorite place : (Wait staff is hit or miss certain waitresses want to take your order to get their name on your ticket but then disappear and you have to get your own drinks and ask for your check at the bar...Hopefully they can figure this out before they end up shutting down!
Wings have went seriously downhill. Used to be my favorite place now the wings are just super dry. And prices have skyrocketed 20 wings two sides of fries and a kids meal 50 bucks ??
Food is great. Customer service is horrible!I walked in and made eye contact with employee to not be greeted. I took a seat at the bar, still No hey I’ll be right with you… Another customer who came over to the bar after me got help before me as if I wasn’t there. I got up and walked out very disappointed. My previous visit was wonderful thanks to Dianna!!
Been over a hour and still no burgers n fries. “New kitchen staff”. Unreal, because this place is usually on point and very quick. Place isn’t even really busy. So disappointed because we are regulars here and now management has abandon the kitchen.
The prices for beer are great and the food was decent. The service was beyond slow. There were 4 of us tonight and 2 nights ago as well and both times it took 20 minutes for anyone to come over to our table, a while to get beers, another 20 minutes to order, and food didn’t arrive for 40 minutes. Both times it took around 2 hours for a round of beer and food and that seems ridiculous for 4 people in a non-busy bar. I ordered a medium burger and it was very well done with a significant amount of char. The men’s bathrooms also looked like a fight had broken out recently with how many dents there were in all the stalls. Great ambiance though and a lot of tv screens to watch sports!
Haven’t been there in few years , updated , new booths , place looks great! Great wings!
