Went in as a group of 5. The food was pretty good. I got the udon noodles and they were delicious. The soup was also good. The sushi wasn’t too bad, just very expensive. Additionally, the hibachi was also expensive, yet not a lot was put onto the plate as compared to other restaurants. The soda tasted like it had toilet water in it. The restaurant itself was hot, seems like the AC was not on, and I did not feel comfortable because I was sweating. The waitress was a bit rude, being dry and blunt when we asked questions. I asked about the udon noodles and a couple of other dishes and she replied telling me all the information I need is right in front of my face on the menu, although I feel it is her job to elaborate if a customer asked. I ended up being more confused and frustrated, and the temperature in the restaurant did not help. Wouldn’t necessarily come back, but not a terrible experience.
I would give 100 stars if I could!Sushi...on a boat! A miniature river of sushi ala carte! They could have thrown in a couple more pieces of steak...but I also could have ordered a bigger plate.Overall, they exceeded my expectations, especially when it came to customer service. My meal wasn't rushed or late, everything came out on time and with the perfect rhythm. My cup never hit empty before the next refill was there, and my waitress was very attentive, but not in an annoying way. It felt like I was eating dinner at my uncles house, the way that they took such good care of me.Sushi was good, Priced very fair for what you get.
Used to be Sapporo's, same great food and service. David is an amazing sushi chef. 1 of only 2 sushi rivers in the U.S. Their hibachi is awesome as well and you can order either no matter which side you sit on.
We had seaweed and a variety of rolls for dinner, and of course, sake! Everything was tasty. Restaurant was clean but dark. Staff wore masks, which was comforting. I gave a 4 instead of a 5 because when we returned for lunch the door was locked. We asked the staff why and we were ignored. The sign on the door said lunch from 11:30am to 3pm. We got there at 2pm.
About 15 yrs ago a thing happened.. All those boats in 'river' floating by for people to choose your plate , kind of moving in the current . Some guy who's been partying a bit , laughing with friends , carrying on, walks up and decides he wants this nice sushi plate , well he grabs the boat instead of the plate and walks about 5 feet away not realizing the boats are all tied together with like 50lb fishing leader line, needless to say he's not paying attention and gives a good hearty tug , and subsequently takes out about 20 plates of food !! People are yelling and screaming , pushing away from river desperately trying to get out of way of flying food ! Folks are wearing rice sushi veggies you name it , food is flying everywhere and floating downstream too !!. He finally hears all the commotion and stops and the chef runs out screaming in Japanese waiving this big knife, he wants to kill the guy holding the boat and like, poor guy is just in shock realizing what happened . By this time everyone is in shock how this could of happened. Man was he embarrassed but all the friends never forgot what happened . I still can't believe they let me in the place repeatedly after all these years . But it was so much fun we almost peed our pants laughing so hard after it happened! Memories ❤????
Four stars is blasphemous! This place is bona fide garbage! Far and away the worst Japanese Steakhouse that I’ve ever been to. The service was invisible as the waiter was nowhere to be found. We had not yet received our beverages after our soups, salads and entrees all came out so we had to ask for them. Not to mention, the server messed up our bill a whopping three times. As for the food itself, it was horrendous. It was cold, bland and a small portion for the price. Only six small pieces of steak for the steak and shrimp hibachi. With all of this being said, it comes as no surprise that this restaurant is terrible because that seems to be the recurring theme with the restaurant industry of Daytona Beach as a whole.
This was our first time here so wanted to try quite a few foods. We decided on some sushi, ramen, udon, and hibachi( steak and shrimp). They were friendly overall but wish they were a bit quicker with the refills. If one person in the group doesn’t want veggies I. Fried rice .. NO ONE gets veggies … bit disappointing a bit there. Typical onion volcano and the put out by a toy peeing to extinguish was light hearted but kind of not too special. Steak was cooked well but could of had more sear. Yum yum was on the sweet side and a bit watery just to note as I have had others that were more savory. We got the tonkotsu ramen and the chicken tempura udon. Both had a heavy dashi broth and noodles were all stuck together which was disappointing for the tonkotsu ramen as it should of been more pork forward. Sushi was nice with the assortment that we got. Overall was not wowed. Just left barely satisfied and underwhelmed with the price I paid. Will not return if I am ever in the area.
Waited forever for a person to greet us and then seat us. This should have been a clue and we didn't notice until it was too late that the restaurant was very dirty and dirty dishes were on every table. Took forever to get a server and didn't get our order right. Took forever to get our food too. Sushi rolls were not very good. Don't waste your time or money here.
Worst Shushi ever.... almost every table head dirty dishes on it. The roles were not even wrapped tightly. They totally screwed up my order and charge me for it. Eat here at your own risk
Great dining experience. Highly recommend
