I am a member of a social media food group here in Daytona Beach and Hampton's was mentioned as a place for some good fried chicken so my wife and I decided to give it a try as a late lunch / early dinner last week. She ordered a large 3 piece white fried chicken (so she could give me one of the breasts) and I ordered fried pork-chop (battered and deep fried but there is an option to have them grill it instead). We both were very pleased with these comfort-food (nothing healthy in this meal :-) ) choices as the fried chicken had a very nice batter and was so juicy inside and likewise with the pork chop. We both ordered turnip greens (and added some hot sauce to them) and mashed potatoes and gravy. I got the three sides meal so I also had fried okra that I really liked. The potatoes are mashed in-house but frankly, tasted a little bland and I was not overwhelmed by the gravy. This was the only item that was okay - the rest were very good! Also, service was very good with servers that evidently have been working there for years. We both had sweet tea and she brought extra glasses without us asking so we had two glasses right from the start. This is a 50 plus year old restaurant (though remolded some in the last 6 years) so don't go looking for ambience (unless Daytona Speedway mural or checkered flag roof tiles is your idea of ambience :-) but do go if you want some good comfort food, especially the fried chicken!
WOW! While we were in DB for the annual bike week event. While out one evening a friend recommended Hampton’s to us. Well, fried chicken happens to be my favorite all time meal. Sure we have fried chicken here in Delmarva, but it’s been a long time since I’ve found anywhere that prepares their chicken in a pressure cooker. That’s the way it’s done and nothing else will compare. We still can hear the crackle of every bite. Each piece was expertly seasoned and prepared with care. Our sides complemented our meal just right. Our waitress was a dream and shared wonderful chocolate European cookies with us for dessert.I can’t wait until our next visit to Daytona for the best fried chicken on the east coast if not the world. Our compliments to the owners and the staff for providing a wonderful meal. The restaurant is full of interesting memorabilia and the nostalgia of NASCAR. I only missed not having an ice cold beer. However, carryout is offered, perhaps a picnic on our next visit.Hampton’s is as wholesome as apple pie and a good southern style supper. Thanks very much for staying true to a traditional American restaurant that serves everyone with the classics!
Fried chicken was very good. Great waitress and always filling up our drinks for us. it is a hole in the wall ki d of place but good food and reasonably priced
The best trader I can highly recommend is Mr Lewis Eric trading platform it's the best, it always remind of my past how I faced alot of trading challenges with scammers but once I saw his recommendation I tried him and my life changed, now my profit go higher than ever and I also make my withdrawals without any problem or paying extra fees. their food is really good, especially the fried chicken
So far the best homey friend chicken in Daytona Beach. They accept cash only but there's ATM inside the diner.
Great down-home cooking, excellent waitstaff and chef, and huge portions. Generous, crisp salad, fried chicken, fried okra, and chicken livers to die for. I can't wait to return to try the Prime Rib Friday Night Special.
When I come to town I try to always have my favorite footlong hot dog...it didnt disappoint...I've had them for over 30 years...wow
I’ve been eating here most of my adult life. The last year the service is gone downhill. I tip really good every time I eat, I’ve bring family and friends here repeatedly. I tip 25 to 30!% typically. But I still can’t get decent service. I’m On a job where I get a 30 minute lunch. I walk in and I can’t get a menu. I wait over 15 minutes after the lady brought me a menu watching her take other peoples orders around me that came in 10 minutes after I did, looking at a lady I gave a $10 tip on a $15 meal the last time I ate there, and I can’t even get my lunch order in I wasted my entire lunch sitting in the restaurant without even ordering my food. I will not spend another dime in this establishment because I cannot get decent service. It’s a shame because I’ve been eating here since I was a child, and enjoy sitting in a restaurant that I used to sit in with my grandfather many years ago. You’ve lost a customer and my entire family for life. I just wanted to eat my lunch and go back to work.
My husband is a diabetic and has a service dog. Luke, his service dog had alerted him his sugar was low and he needed to eat. I am also training a puppy to be a service dog. We happened to be close to Hamptons restaurant. As we walked in you could feel they were not happy we were there. We talked about leaving but my husband had to eat. So we did stay, but was very uncomfortable. The women that was behind the counter was so rude. Our waitress was a bit short and as she came to take our order she asked in a very degrading tone, "are these really service dogs?" Then she went on to say, " we have people all the time coming in here with dogs that aren't." My husband told her "yes, do you want to see his card?" She just shrugged her shoulders and asked what we wanted to order. We get compliments all the time from people in the public as to how well behaved our dogs are. We take great pride in this. This kind of gives me an idea how Rosa Parks felt on the bus. Was a very sad day yesterday.
