Great sushi and sashimi in a cozy atmosphere! We had the best time with some great friends here!

I've been following Maki for over 25 years (Sapporo's, Chi-Lings, Momofuko's) because he's the best sushi chef. While the place could use some freshening up decoratively, it is the best and surprisingly the most reasonably priced. Those is the place I take all my friends to.

Whenever I am in town my friends and I go here for sushi. It is excellent, with all of the things you would expect, plus a very creative selection of rolls. My first choice for sushi in the Daytona area. Very reasonable prices. Have to laugh at reviewers who only ate the kitchen food. Understand that these restaurants only provide cooked food for people who don’t eat sushi, probably companions along for the ride. This is a sushi restaurant, and a good one

Great ambience! Friendly staff. They had a disco ball on the entire time we were there which was cool. Good sushi at a great price. It's kinda hard to find because there wasn't a sign. Other than that, everything was great.

Cute little hidden gem. Great ambience, super fresh, reasonably priced. Look for the question mark ?

Best sushi in town everything's fresh waitstaff is great favorite place in town

Hands down freshest and most beautifully presented sushi and sushimi anywhere. Absolutely delicious. The service is excellent.

I tried using Google Assistant to book a reservation (didn’t know at the time that wouldn’t be necessary) but got an email saying the reservation was declined. We decided to walk there anyway and try our luck. It took a while to find the place as they had moved the name so it was a completely nondescript shop in the midst of closely knit shops selling real estate to drinks to clothing. The place was dark even with the bright daylight (we went at 5 pm) outside. There were no frills which is fine. We’ve all been to places with frills but terrible food so that was not an issue. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura Roll. About two small shrimps had gone into the making of the dish with sushi rice and some avocado. Served with wasabi and pickled ginger it just about made it palatable with the additional sauces we asked for. Our entree was the Shrimp Tempura plate. You have a choice of either Onion Soup or Miso Soup and a bowl of rice. The onion soup with bits of thinly chopped mushroom and specks of green onion was good. It was delicately flavored and was a good start to the meal. The salad- not so much. The ginger dressing on the ribboned carrots, lettuce and tomato tasted a little bitter and slightly odd. There was no seasoning whatsoever in the tempura batter or the veggies (there were 2 shrimp tempura, 2 chicken tempura and the rest was a mix of squash, eggplant, green beans, mushrooms, cauliflower). Nothing- I repeat nothing- had any seasoning. Usually I love tempura but apart from the total blandness of the tempura itself, the batter was soggy in places and crunchy in some. The dark sauce served with it had an odd medicinal odor and was simply inedible. That we ordered 2 plates of the same entree was a big mistake- as we were left with a TON of half soggy half crunchy fried stuff. Also how is one supposed to eat a bowl of plain rice with a plate for fried tempura? We noticed some customers coming in and familiar with the place even with the fact that there is no indication of there being a restaurant so clearly the locals like the place. We actually asked a server at the pub a couple of restaurants down for this place when we couldn’t find it and she showed us the restaurant saying they took down their name recently. Looking at the Trip Advisor pictures I thought this would be a much better place than what it turned out to be. I think it is probably a good place for sushi. For cooked food, it’s a sold pass for me and my companion.

Excellent sushi! We go here whenever we come to Daytona Beach!

This is a very nice sushi restaurant that is out of the way. Don't let it's quaintness or small size fool you. It really packs some quality! A group of 3 of us are here for dinner. The service was great and the food even better. I recommend the Tuna hand rolls. They were some of the best I have had. The quality of the fish was top notch. This will be a place that I'm sure to visit the next time I'm in town.
