Sorry to say I will not be going back. Lately the food has not been as good as it use to be. I feel I need to give cooking directions - like please don't burn the food. This week they delivered and I paid a generous tip. Size of soda was wrong and they forgot the sauce for the Sweet & Sour Chicken my grandson ordered. They refused to redeliver and would only credit for the amount of the sauce!! That sauce makes the meal. I was told too bad and only way they would help would be for me to bring the meal back and pick up the sauce myself. I have gone to this restaurant for over 30 years. This is the second owner to my knowledge - not going back again. You would think that in a time when things are not good, following a pandemic, you would do all you could to strengthen your business - not send it sailing good-bye!!! I am a big advocate when it comes to helping small businesses in my community. This place can't seem to help itself - why bother overlooking their horrible customer service practices. Only one start because I can not post this unless I give at least one Star - No Stars today if only the site would allow it!
The food was horrible. It was greasy, overcooked rice, and grease tasted used and old. After eating a small portion my stomach began to hurt and I couldn’t digest properly from the old grease obviously. I left a star because they were nice.
I work less than 5 mins away from this place, I ordered the lunch special with orange chicken and pork fried rice. Everything seemed ok and they said it should be delivered in 30 mins. After an hour and a half they finally show up and I wasn’t going to tip for the bad service. There employee started asking me about a tip in front of one of my clients where I had to remind him that there is no tip for a meal that was over and hour late. Then when I finally sit down to eat I see the rice is dry, and the chicken is undercooked, not in the sense that the meat is raw, more along the lines of they didn’t fry it long enough and the breading is falling off. Then after about an hour my stomach felt like it was in a knot, I was in and out of the bathroom to the point where I had to leave work early.

I had honestly forgotten about this place until my mom came to visit and asked to order there! I then remembered ordering from China Island over 30 years ago with my Grandfather! The food was amazing! The BEST egg foo young I have had! Everything was hot and fresh. The order was perfect. The pork fried rice had huge slices of pork in it. Not thin, dry strips. Egg rolls were big and not greasy or soggy. I am so sorry we have wasted time and money ordering elsewhere for the past few years! Everything was as awesome as I remember it!
They always get my order wrong!! And instead of offering to replace they tell me to come in and exchange after I already picked it up!Instead of sending the correct food to my house!Also the quality of the food is horrible!!! Dry rice and tasteless main dishes!!!
Great Hot and Sour Soup…try the Happy Family…
I have tried this restaurant many times over the last 40+ years. Their chow mien and fried rice is fair. The only thing I would say is you like a lot of fish sauce you will like this restaurant’s food. Their Wanton soup is sometimes not cooked all the way and their broth is brown not chicken broth and tastes like dishwater. Spring rolls also very fishy tasting. Go to STIX, their food is much better and prices are comparable.
Love the food, but the Chinese lady that sometimes is making dumplings and brings the food is very RUDE ?
It is supposed to be a special rice, which should have chicken, shrimp and pork, I feel cheated and apart they charged me 1 $ extra because I wanted it with green onion and they did not add it .. worst ??
