Ribs were tough and needed to be ripped off bone. Brisket okay but could be better. The burnt ends not soft and chewy.Ranch in chicken wings not good. Onion rings didn’t taste right.Best thing about the meal waste the bottled corona and modelo.
This is Texas style bbq, so the meats are dry rubbed with bbq sauce provided for those who want it. The ribs were a bit charred on the outside so I would honestly have preferred them to be served with the sauce already on. That said they were well marinated on the inside, not at all dry. Fries were underwhelming, too crispy and not seasoned. The cornbread was great. Their beer list was not extensive (not uncommon for Miami) and they do not have a full bar. This is still the best bbq I have found in Miami so far.
Just passing by on 8th street we saw Uncle Toms barbecue. It was one of the worst dining experience . We order barbecue ribs and half barbecue chicken. The ribs were too dry but kind of eatable , then I tasted the chicken which it was super dry like it was seating on a low heat grill for several hours and had a full smell. We were not happy that all. But we were so hungry we decided to try another dish. We order beef brisket, another disappointment, it tasted funny and had a funny taste , we did not eat.I just hope we want get sick tonight. What a disappointment
We were in Miami for a 1 night layover. My wife and I were in the mood for BBQ and the hotel concierge recommended Uncle Tom's. We shared a half slab of ribs and a pulled pork platter. When I first bit into a ribs, it had a nice smoky flavor. But I quickly realized, that was the only good thing about their BBQ. The meat was very dry and tough. The pulled pork was no better. The fries were plain old frozen crinkle fries... .nothing special at all. The other disappointing thing was they only had one flavor of BBQ sauce. Most BBQ restaurants have a selection of sauces. I have a Traeger smoker at home and the ribs and pulled pork that I make are far better that I had at Uncle Tom's. That's not good when a home cook can outperform a well known BBQ restaurant.
Uncle Tom's BBQ has been my fav for many years! We ordered a slab of ribs, the burnt ends brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese and baked beans everything was delicious. They have a signature house BBQ sauce that takes the flavor profile to the next level. Our waitress Carla was wonderful, so pleasant and friendly she made our dining experience even better! I enjoy the atmosphere, the history and ambience, it was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and enjoy the breeze. If you're a sports fan they have flat screens to watch the game while dining.
I ordered a “brisket” sandwich. It looked like the Costco prepackaged sliced meat. It was more bread bun than anything. Had three very thin dry brisket slices and that’s it. The winner was the coleslaw and the corn nuggets i ordered apart. And the service was decent enough. Also ordered mozzarella sticks… seemed like I was eating old grease. Definitely other great places for the same price.
I went with no expectations and left less than satisfied, o got the ribs and chicken combo the ribs were ok nothing out of this world and a little dry. Didn't touch the chicken as it looked way to dry and burnt. The only good thing I had was the appetizers. Nothing out of this world. Will keep looking for a good BBQ place in miami.
My husband and I were looking for restaurants unique to Miami. We researched a few bbq places and settled on Uncle Tom’s. The fries were crispy, the meat tender, and service was decent. This is a stop to make if you don’t want to visit Miami and eat at Applebees.
This place was phenomenal. I had the brisket and baby back rib combo that came with Texas toast and a choice of two of the following: cole slaw, French fries or baked beans. I chose the cole slaw and French fries which were both so delicious. I also got to try the baked beans because my Mom ordered some and they too were also on point. The baby back ribs were pretty lean and meaty with just the right amount of fat and the brisket was also very good. The food came out pretty fast and the servers were really nice. Overall this place was great and I'll definitely be back again. I strongly recommend this place.
My daughter and I had time to kill before our flight and wanted to try something we can't get at home. The kids portion was good sized and she cleaned her rib bones. My pulled pork sandwich was good, plenty of meat, so I didn't even eat the bread. You must try the BBQ sauce, it was delicious! The staff was friendly.
