Unique food exploration unlike any other restaurant in South Floida.Great food, not just unique food, backed up by very friendly Chef / Owner and warm welcoming attentive personal service often missing here in Miami.Subtle. sophisticated, modrn room right down to the table service. Comfortable seating and reasonable prices. Easy street parking. We had the smaller of the two Chef's tasting menu and have already planned a return visit with foodie friends.
Best tacos you will have in all of Florida! Good location, clean facilities, friendly staff, and AMAZING food! Chicken, Lechón, or Stake tacos... ? Are always good, but be aware, they are on the heavy side! Two tacos will surely fill you up! ??
Super nice. I had two tacos - pork and shrimp. The tortillas are super soft, and the tacos have a great size so you can try more than one flavor. Service is a bit slow, but very nice. My colleagues ordered bowls and everything looked so good!! Prices are fair, and you can eat for like 20 dollars. Will come back again for sure
Place was found using google maps. Had a quick few hours for lunch between flight and cruise and wanted some authentic Cuban food. This place was amazing! Wife loved her food and I loved mine. Dessert was great too! Staff was very accommodating and had great suggestions.
Fue exelente el trato y los tacos ? de camarón ? deliciosos ,
Please do not follow Eater recommendation for Caja Caliente. A place that should is rated in the the op 40 places to eat in Miami and Top 15 in Coral Gables is wrong. I've had better Mexican Food at 7/11. The concept seemed like a good idea taco stand with many different Cuban Tacos (soft shell tacos), croquetta, empanadas with tasty drinks. We went there and everything was terrible. Service awful. The drinks were terrible. Tinto de Verrano tasted like chlorine wine. Put Fanta in it not Flat Sprite. The only drink they didn't mess up was Jarrito because that came in a bottle. The ambience is terrible. Interesection of Ponce de Leon not a great location to sit down and enjoy drinks. Nothing great about the location or chairs where you sat. The tacos. The amazing tacos that everyone mentioned in the review. The shell was cold. I should have sent it back. Felt like the shell was in the freezer. The sauce inside was good with the meat (we tried the octopus taco) seemed good but I couldn't get over a cold shell that took 30 minutes o come out when there was 4 tables at the restaurant. An overpriced garbage taco. The goat cheese croquettes. Avoid they are not good. Plantain Balls. I think they were missing the Picadillo. The empaanads were the only redeeming food item from this place. We did the chicken curry empanadas. Also for all this food being so bad it is expensive. 8 bucks for a cold soft shell taco. Pass. I hope Caja Caliente puts more money into their food, service and experience and stop paying off critics who write for Eater or Thrillist.
This was my pick at the SoBe Wine and food festival- Tacos and TequilaCan’t wait to try the full menu!
Came all the way from Broward county to try. We came in and was immediately greeted by Luis who said he would be with in a couple minutes and said it might be a wait because the place was completely full and he was there by himself bartending, serving, food running, taking orders, and doing take out at the same time...flawlessly I might add. A customer as well as Luis recommended the tamales which was unbelievable with an egg on top. We had a Disco with lechon, croquetas, and churros, and Arroz con Pollo Togo which they do once a week on Saturdays. LUIS was amazing!!! and we didn't wait in fact, Luis was going table to table checking on everyone pumping out take outs and in house orders. Will be back for the tamales and unbelievable food, and big thanks to Luis for being one of the best serves I had in Miami in quite some time!
Cute, authentic Cuban restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating. Ordered a pan con lechón to go after the lunch rush - loved it. Service was slow (had to stop a waiter to make an order after waiting a few minutes, waited 20+ minutes for a simple sandwich). Hopefully the boss hires more waiters/provides good training.
One of my favorite spots in Miami! Their dishes are so savory and unique. My favorite thing to order is the chicken curry empanada but you cannot go wrong with anything here. Small spot but food comes out quick. Service is also great! Love caja!
