My family and I were visiting Cocoa Beach for the day during our Florida vacation Thursday, July 7. We were at the beach most of the afternoon and were starving by the time we left. We were looking for a seafood buffet for dinner. I searched Google maps for seafood buffet and this place was the first restaurant to pop up. Reviews were good so we decided to stop. Although Captain J’s is not a seafood buffet, I am SO GLAD that Google brought this place up in my search!! I was nervous when we first arrived because the exterior of the restaurant wasn’t much to look at but I thought we’d give it a try. We’re a family of 8 and were starving, we were also in 3 vehicles so I wasn’t gonna make everyone drive somewhere else just based on how the place looked from the outside, so we gave it a shot. We walked up the stairs to the host stand and waited to be seated. Our waitress came and took us to two booths with a GORGEOUS view! From what I could tell it’s all outside seating, you are however covered by a roof that keeps out the sun, somewhat (they also have a sun deck that is not covered). I wish I could remember our servers name, she did a wonderful job with us, we ran the poor girl to death. We ordered gator tail for an appetizer with roumelade dipping sauce, both were delicious. We had orders of chicken Alfredo, fried crab cakes(can also order them broiled), stuffed salmon, steak, shrimp, and ribs. Our whole party complimented their meals! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! Our servings were so big that a few of us had to take leftovers home.I LOVED the whole vibe of this restaurant! It just screams Cocoa Beach to me. It’s a laid back place, with the best views, awesome service, and the best food! If you ever find yourself upon this place definitely, definitely check it out! It’s just a short ride from Lori Wilson park where we parked at for our beach day. Just the absolute best way for us to end our day at Cocoa Beach! Thank you so much Captain J’s for a perfect ending to our fun family beach day??
A gem in the rough! The fish tacos were surprisingly tasty, and the crab cake sandwich was nice. Prices are fair, but the rooftop cafe needs repairs. Wobbly stairs to the bathroom and uneven floors. Worth a trip for a nice view, and you don't have to pay the $30 parking fee at the pier.
Poor portion size and lacked flavor. Definitely not going back. Service was subpar at best. Overpriced and lacking a lot. View was nice but not worth it. Chairs on rooftop were extremely uncomfortable.
We were on our way home from Orlando and saw signs for Coco beach. Y not let's go visit my wife said. So we ended up at ur beautiful place. Glad we did.oysters was awesomeDrinks was fabulous. Staff amazingWe will surely be there again.Ps.We never made it to d water......
We stopped here for food after spending time on the beach never been to the beach or bar before but enjoyed both. The bar staff were fantastic and the food was great and it reasonably priced, great location the owner even took time to talk to us as he knew we from the uk would highly recommend view from the top deck was breathtaking.
Great spot by the beach with a great view at the top. It has nice character and delicious food at good prices. Staff very friendly and lovely to chat to, especially great service from Denna (sorry if incorrect spelling) and male bartender, and also lovely talking to the manager.
Great service qt the roof-top restaurant. Crab cakes and coco-shrimp were amazing. A couple blocks S. of the pier. Great service. Reasonable prices for great food.
Ended up here by chance. The place is a little confusing when you walk in. Hard to tell staff from customers. Got seated with menus then someone took our drink orders and walked away. As I looked around the place was a little run down, looked like in the day it was a fine eating establishment. I am sure covid did not help the matters. Our orders were taken and served. one had a burger and fries and gave a thumbs up, wife had a crab sandwhich thumbs up, I had the cob salad, which was just a little weak on the fixins plus the few crumbs of bacon almost broke my teeth. For the ambiance and the food it might be a little expensive but hey everything is going up. Probably wont go back
Beautiful view and fantastic staff! They kept apologizing that they only had 3 for waitstaff but they hustled to where you’d never know they were running behind. Food was great, drinks amazing! If you’re looking for a good rum punch or frozen drink, look no further. Public beach parking right next door! A 5 minute walk from the largest Ron Jon shop! We’re already planning another trip.
Good food & service. Nice view of the ocean
