My wife and I dined at The Southern for the first time on July 9, 2002. We chose The Southern at the recommendation of one of its neighboring businesses. The recommendation did not disappoint. The fried chicken was out of this world, and can honestly say that it was the best that I've had in decades. Our server was Kelli and she was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and an overall joy to talk to. We HIGHLY recommend. We will be back again and again.

We had the best dinner tonight! The food was incredibly good… I savored every bite of the Pecan crusted chicken salad… so good! And I can’t say enough about our server, Meghan. She was attentive but not overly so. We will definitely be back and hopefully have her as our server again. Thank you for a wonderful meal… and evening!
Came today for Brunch, it was delicious! We had the Eggs Benedict, Chicken & Waffles and Steak & Eggs! So good!! We had a fish dip appetizer hands down delicious!! Anddd don’t forget to get a Bloody Mary!!!!! Garnished with Bacon, Deviled Eggs and Cheese Stuffed Olives!Now let’s talk about the service! Our waitress was hands down AMAZING!!! Her name was Brice so if you go for brunch ask for her to be your server!
Visited for a birthday dinner, party of 7 on a Thursday night. Got right in with a reservation. The decor is really cute inside. Ordered the $45 charcuterie board for an appetizer. It came with 2 shots of nice whiskey so I can maybe justify the price, but the rest of the board seemed a little sparse but I can say the pickled onions were fantastic! Also ordered the Fish & crab dip appetizer, was sorry to say it was very fishy tasting, not smoked like I would have expected. I had the pork chop for my main course and it was really great! The mashed potato’s were the best I’ve ever had. The rest of my party consistently thought the seafood dishes were fishy tasting. My sister in law had a salad which she said was awesome. Had some really delicious peach ginger cocktails. The service was very good. In summary, this is a cool place for a date but I would steer clear of the seafood and focus on the pork chop or the steak dishes. Be prepared to spend some money!
We had a great experience. The food was great. The bourbon was lovely. The service was awesome. We were there the evening for 2/25. A busy Friday night. Megan was AMAZING! We will be back!!!
Food and atmosphere was great! It was our first visit and we were celebrating our 28th Anniversary. We wanted something we haven't done before. The place was amazing! Our server John was fabulous. I highly recommend the food green tomatoes and the Filet was perfect as was the mushroom risotto. They have a cute bar that would be a great night out place to visit here in town. We will certainty be going back.
Came for our 20th Anniversary and ended up sick from the food! Staff was wonderful but due to Covid, and staffing we waited over an hour and 15 for our meal. Paid for an overpriced disgusting meal and spent the next day throwing up from the dinner. Both of us. What a way to spend your anniversary!
Our first time here but not our last! The atmosphere was adorable, great brunch menu, yummy mimosas..my husband's biscuits were tasty but my cuban was AMAZING! Our server Connie was fantastic and friendly. We enjoyed our Sunday morning here and will definitely be back soon!
