The food was just ok.I would not recommend getting anything steak related...as it just seemed like it was a lower quality or fake...even though it was tender.Not sure if it was an "off night", but just my opinion.The pictures are the items that we ordered.Steak and Avocado TacosCoconut Shrimp Tacos (sent back as I am not a real fan of coleslaw and it was some weird looking pineapple substance on the shrimp and then coleslaw).This new item which was some old bay tater tots and calamari- this was okay...not too badAnd a Steak Cobb salad.I ordered a hurricane margarita as well and it came in a small regular glass. So not happy with that as well.Perhaps other menu items would be better. But the service was good. This is simply a rating on the food.
Never got eat there. Went with my brothers and left before we ordered due to bad customer service. We walked in and were never greeted. After about seven minutes we had to approach the bartender to get seated. We asked to be seated on the patio. She obliged and we took a seat. After about 10 more minutes a server/manager came out and told us it would be about 20 minutes to be served since they were busy. Not a problem as they were a little busy and we could get drinks while we waited. Fast forward another 10 minutes or so and were then told by the staff that no one wanted to provide service on the patio although there were nine other people be served already. We decided to leave as we had wasted about half an hour and didn't even get drinks ordered. Food could be fine but never got to experience it due to bad customer service.
Great selection, very reasonable prices, family friendly. Staff went above and beyond. Food was delicious.
I really was excited to stop here..and was very disappointed ? the food was disgusting.. for 84 $.....we didn't even eat it well couldn't the smell off it made my mother in law extremely sick...the bright side was the boy at the couter was very nice and even brought our to go order to the car...so thanks he had an amazing personality ?
This was our first visit to Hurricanes. Let me start with the good parts. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, 6 chicken tenders with a side of onion rings and ordered a Blackened Tropical Mahi with a side salad. The food was really good. The tenders seemed a little dark but let me tell you they were crispy on the outside and so very tender on the inside. The onion rings were also crisp and tasty. The fish and salad were also good. Everything worth ordering again….but probably take out next time.Now the not so great parts, this restaurant has a bar that has open windows where they serve guests inside and outside at the bar. Smokers cannot smoke inside but they were in full force outside with the smoke filling the dining room throughout our meal. Additionally,we were seated right behind a very large party. They were not misbehaved but they were very loud. Adding to the smoke and high volume was a mix of different perfumes and colognes all mixing together. I’m not usually sensitive to smells but the combination of smoke, perfumes/colognes and food were overwhelmingly gross. It’s a good thing we didn’t invite a friend that we frequently dine with because she wouldn’t have lasted long enough to order or drinks.The staff seemed just fine, service was as attentive as we needed.
We were super excited to enjoy wings but after being seated and waiting a while the really kind host finally came back over to apologize and grab our drink order. He brought a drink menu and our waters and assured us a waitress would be over soon. After waiting a while again, no one came to take our order. As we left the host was super apologetic and kind. I have no idea what happened as it wasnt busy and we saw a few servers. We are bummed we missed out on trying the wings.
I wanted to sit outside and a sign said you had to see the hostess. Waited and waited but no hostess. Even asked the bartender. He went back to the kitchen and came back to say she would be right out. Waited and waited some more for a total of about 5 minutes but no hostess. I gave up and left. I loved their food in the past
One star is generous. The service is always garbage. We sat down it took 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. He got our drinks wrong. We’ve been to other hurricanes and love the establishment but this particular location is less than par. Be prepared to be here for at least 2 hours. When they opened the kitchen door you could just see they’re all hanging around chatting in the back. Most of the servers were high and reeked of weed. The hostess had a bad attitude. You’d get better service from a run down McDonald’s.
We ordered some food to go. As I am allergic to cheese I made sure to order something that doesn’t have any cheese, in this case the Seared Ahi Tuna salad. When we got home I saw that the salad was covered in cheese. I phoned the restaurant and they agreed to redo the whole order and replace the salad with a plain burger. When I got back to the restaurant I was told they hadn’t had Ahi Tuna in more than a month due to supply issues. The girl who had taken my order was new and wasn’t aware of that, what I actually got was Mahi salad which apparently does have cheese on it. When I got back home with the second order, which took 45 minutes to do, I noticed they had not put the fries in. How hard can it be? Needless to say, we won’t be back!
Stopped by this evening with my daughter. Our server Raymond was amazing and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!
