My husband and I came to Clearwater Beach to celebrate our birthdays (4 days apart). We chose Ocean Hai because of the pictures online. Well, the sushi was NOT good. The spicy Mayo was warm, the rice was not like sushi rice, it reminded me of par boiled rice, the overran sushi temperature was room temperature. Needless to say, my meal did not âstay down â, it was flushed within minutes of almost finishing. The price of the dish was taken off of our tab, but when they brought out a birthday dessert I gave the waitress a âyouâve GOT to be kiddingâ look. I couldnât think about putting another thing in my stomach. I know that these are tough times and itâs hard getting qualified help, but MINIMALLY the food HAS TO come somewhat close to the hype. Just sayin :( On the other hand, the restaurant is beautiful and ambiance is its best quality.
Chose this place for the last night of our vacation. We loved it . Kinda fancy . The food was great . Great service. The crab Rangoon was delish !

Our server, Alex, was great. He took his time explaining things and offering suggestions. The food was deliciousâ¦and cooked perfectly!
Service and ambiance was pretty good, however the food did not match the quality and was sub-par.
Excellent drinks, food was wonderful and our server did a great job. It was the best meal of our Clearwater Beach vacation hands down.
Great ambience, appetizers and entrees were all up to par. The service needed work, maybe need more servers to handle the busy Saturday night
Service was nothing short of AMAZING! We were celebrating a bachelorette dinner and our service was top tier. They reserved the private dining room for us and our server Blanca was so sweet and accommodating. She offered to take our pictures, did a great job at explaining the menu, and provided prompt service. Everyone we encountered was so friendly. I would recommend Ocean Hai to anyone staying at the hotel of in the Clearwater area.
AVOID!!!! Their are too many excellent restaurants nearby that provide superior quality and value! OH is a total tourist trap in a hotel lobby, delivering awful food to tourist and unknowing locals. I am personally questioning Open Tables review/rating system as OH review is a scam rating deserving no more than 1 star! I reserved a 7 course seasonal tasting dinner for my daughter's birthday (party of 6) $95 ea + $ beverages + an unpublished 19% service charge + additional gratuity if you desire. The service staff knows how much gratuity they will receive and are unmotivated to provide excellent service. We started with a sushi plate and the pieces of fish were warm. As the first two dinner courses arrived I knew we were about to experience a BAD dining experience! Every dish was worse than the first (poor menu design, very low quality ingredients, overcooked and prepared by horrible cooks without supervision of the chef! We decide to leave OH before the 7th course dessert was served!!! Horrible restaurant and do not recommend! Beware of OT RATINGS! Legit?
