Calling all sushi lovers ?‼️this is, in my opinion, the best sushi you’ll find in the Tampa Bay Area. The fish quality is impeccable and melts in your mouth. You can tell that the sushi chefs are passionate and focused on executing quality sushi.I saw this was in a strip mall and was a little hesitant but you transport into a small restaurant with great vibes. Very clean, pleasant staff. It was a great way to spend my birthday. We will certainly be back!!PS. This is worth the wait if there is a wait for a table and it is worth waiting for the chef to prepare because it’s FRESH!!

Our daughter wanted Sushi from her birthday so we decided to give this place a try. They were able to seat our party of 7 right away. The seating area is small but the layout maximizes seating. Service was great. We started with apps fried calamari, gyoza and tempora shrimp. The fried calamari was extra chewy but the other apps were really good. My husband didn't seem to mind the chewiness.Ken's has a variety of rolls to choose from. We choose the dragon roll and baba roll both were great. We also ordered two orders of fried rice for the kids and they devoured it!So glad we found a sushi spot we like, also try the Thai ice coffee, it's yummy!

Clean small cozy place. Sushi was great. Dessert was delicious! Presentation was pretty. However, the staff on this day were all bunched in a group in one corner by the register, snickering/laughing looking at my family & other customers. That was quite uncomfortable & awkward. Other than that, food was good.

I am very excited to try this place but first time experience wasn’t good…sushi size was small and just okay fresh. Toro is not fat enough and uni is lack of flavor. Salmon is not better than the salmon I got from trade joe….every bites turn my excitement to cold water? the rice is too dry and cold and loose.these below is about $44 in total, with $50 I can get a very delicious 12 pieces omakase in NewYork. The price just doesn’t match the quality.Sorry first time leaving a not good comment…but just wanna give a head up for people who have high expectations. Maybe just get the special roll, with all the sauces the rice may taste better. Can’t believe why this place has such good reviews.

I finally made it to Ken Sushi in Clearwater last night, had been looking forward to trying it for a long time. On the surface, it’s a small Japanese restaurant in a generic strip mall, with the usual extensive menu. The place was packed with what appeared to be a lot of regulars, the food from the kitchen looked very good, and the three sushi chefs were making almost exclusively rolls and other fancy stuff. But people rave about the sushi, and their Facebook page shows a great variety of fine-looking “special” selections. I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered only nigirizushi, mostly specials. The fish was uniformly excellent, portions generous (probably a bit too little shari for the fish), the preparation very good, service slow (my order took about 45min, but the three sushi chefs were all very busy) but good. Selections from the regular menu were hamachi, saba, unagi and anago (you don’t see that often); specials included uni (from Hokkaido), o-toro, Ora King salmon, arctic char, shima aji and tai. The high point, interestingly enough, was the arctic char, I had never had that raw before, it was rich, complex, almost nutty. O-toro was best quality, as were the hamachi and anago. Only negative was that the saba was overmarinated, far too sour. Shari was probably a bit more compressed than it should have been as well. Overall, this was an outstanding dinner and I don’t think you could do much better for sushi in the Tampa Bay area. They do offer an omakase, and I’ll plan on doing that sometime, maybe on a less busy night. Given the selection and quality of high-end and exotic fish, I think this place is a hidden gem and could really give Sushi Rexley in downtown St. Pete (omakase only) a run for their money.

Ken's is an amazing experience mixing the best of modern and traditional sushi into one. With an absolutely incredible selection of fish coming in from all over the world to rival that of a True omakase sushi place that will not allow you to order a la carte or serve a delicious Mexican roll. Ken's masterfully blends everyone's favorites underneath one roof. All fish are filleted in house and come from as far away as New Zealand! I truly believe this to be one of those spots that is a must try as Chef Ken is not only the best sushi in the area but could give anyone in the state a run for their money! Must haves in spot are always changing as he is always looking to bring in the best he can find but make sure to try the different cuts of tuna and a couple others from the "special" menu.

Convenient location directly on Gulf to Bay Blvd. Enjoyed salmon (sake) and tuna (maguro) nigiri. Strong wasabi and high quality ginger. Portion size is not as generous as what I get in NJ but is similar to what I've been served elsewhere in the Clearwater St Pete area. Pricing also more in line with local area as opposed to what I pay in NJ. I plan to stop here again when I'm in the area.

Ken Sushi is a little gem tucked away in a small plaza. It gets pretty busy during peak times and it's small inside, so best to get there early or make a reservation if you can. The lunch special is great! $10.95 for 2 rolls. I've also had the Thai red curry and katsu chicken entree which were also great. I usually come here by myself and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Just had dinner here. They were super busy for Valentine’s day, so we were a little confused on who our server actually was, but still got our amazing food! We used to live in Tampa and had yet (for a year) to find a place that met or topped our favorite place in Tampa, but Ken’s officially did it! Everything was amazing and beyond fresh! Highly recommend!!

Great food and service. Love the experience. Thanks Ken sushi will come again.
