Went to a wedding and it was beautiful inside and out. They cooked food there and service buffet style. The tables were decorated and facility is very clean.
So much confusion on wedding day. Jasmine made some things ok. But, I would not recommend having any event at this venue. There were live roaches in dining hall and the food was subpar. What should have been a great day from beginning to end, it went wrong all day. So disappointed after paying so much for a festive event. No referrals and no recommendations. DO NOT BOOK! If you do, read all the fine print, not once, twice, but x3. You may want to record the conversations to make certain who said what and why. Such a disappointment!!!!
Hmmm! What can I say the venue was pricey!! This place has a lot Of potential, To be great AGAIN!! I do believe that they need some restorative work and a lot of it. They say they were revamping the brides room. However that was half done. And the ponds on site needs to be clean The air was not working,Statues we’re missing ,air conditioning leaking on guest,Sections in the garden were also closed offYes this place is convenient but the price is outrageous. When you just get the venue and the open bar whic was paid for and nothing else they don’t want to much decor they want the the buliding to show its own beauty. But this bullding needs to be refreshed to the new age. the price that was paid was probably paid yeeeeeears ago should have came with food should of came with linen.and MORE HOURS 4 hours u pay this kind of money it should of been to 12 I think this place is a ripoff honestlyTo sum this place is just making it but they are charging TOOOO MUCH I THINK SOME MONEY NEEDS TO BE REFUNDED IMMEDIATELY.. the coordinator was not all that great and when it was time to go we were push out like old newspapers. Not classy at out . Just please look around before making this choice thx Kapok please refund some of my sons money thx
WOW is all I can say! I had my wedding here on 2/26/22 and worked with Shirley. We had the most amazing time!First off the venue is absolutely stunning. We wanted something indoors but also had the option for guest to go outside. They have two garden area with lots of fountains. The second I showed my husband Kapok he feel in love and we knew we had our venue. We had a pretty good size wedding. Almost 300 people showed up and we all fit downstairs just fine. I will say it did get a little warm on the dance floor but I can’t complain too much because we had a lot of people.Now to talk about Shirley, SHE WAS AMAZING! I cannot recommend her enough!! I am an alpha female & have an A type personality. I love taking control and ask a ton of questions. Shirley was VERY quick to respond even responding on her days off sometimes. Shirley was on top of all my request and even put up with my random drop in’s. She never seemed annoyed or upset with me or my mom (who has the same personality lol). In our contract it stated Shirley was there for day of coordination but that’s not very true. We booked just about 1 year in advance and Shirley was helping me from day 1! Any questions I had I would just show up, call or email her and she would answer She helped with the seating chart, designs, and just about anything a full on wedding planner would do. I had my wedding just about planned 3 months out. Trust me you won’t need an extra wedding planner.Ladies and gentlemen, trust me if you are looking for a unique place to have a wedding or any event this is it! They definitely are not the cheapest place you will find but I felt I paid for what I got and was very happy with our decision and wouldn’t change anything! I wish I could post more photos but I’m still waiting on my professional photos so I apologize lol

Our Daughter's Wedding Celebration at the Kapok Special Events Center was nothing short of amazing. We had researched the area painstakingly to find just the right venue for the event. To take an already iconic venue and combined with the number of upgrades and renovations Pam the owner has invested in as of late I believe has taken the Kapok Special Events Center to the next level in event venues in the Tampa/Clearwater area. Combine that with our wedding planner Jasmen's meticulous attention to detail in the planning and execution of our wedding celebration, I would highly recommend Kapok to anyone looking to book a well organized, classy and upscale event.

This venue truly and genuinely exceeded my expectations! I hosted my wedding, ceremony and reception here this past July 2021. We had Shirley Scoggins as our tour guide and eventually as our event coordinator and she made sure to work with my husband and I every step of the way. I live out of town so this included scheduling meetings and planning on 'off' days like Sundays. She helped guide me as a bride and as someone with lots of experience and expertise to make sure all of our grounds were covered. So if you have an opportunity to work with her do it and listen to what she tells you! I highly highly recommend using their preferred vendors, it will save you lots of stress in knowing that the vendors know the place inside and out including their rules and conditions of service (which can be a little strict). We used JR Navarro for decor and Delectables for catering and both were amazing! I will say that certain packages do get pricey especially because you must use their bar/drink package (there's no way around it) but you can modify it to work best for you and we still received great service. My wedding was truly a dream come true and this place brought it to life. Everyone was very kind and helpful including Sergio the maintenance specialist who is in charge of maintaining the venue, he was always very helpful in answering questions about the venue setup and details! Honestly Kapok is truly a one of a kind venue and I'm so glad my husband and I trusted our gut and went with it! Thank you Kapok Staff for such an amazing job!
Kapok Special Events is a beautiful piece of history that never gets old when visiting. It's a hidden gem tucked away in Clearwater, FL next to Sam Ash Music store. They have a beautiful Greek & Italian themed garden filled with original statues from Greece placed throughout the gardens, an awe inspiring wall of waterfalls from Italy and must see Chandeliers from France! Jasmen and Shirley are very friendly and informative as well and answered all of my questions! If you love the European theme without the cost of the plane tickets you won't be disappointed when booking your event or simply enjoying a stroll when they're open for tours.
