I’m always excited to support our local business. I’ve been in town since Friday and this is my first disappointment sad to say. The only great thing was the Manhattan Clam Chowder soup and the bread. My Penne Al-Vodka pasta had very little taste and it wasn’t fully cooked noodles were kind a hard. I think that I should’ve just left once I heard a young lady “server” with an attitude and using the proper vocabulary while at work. My server Gentleman maybe in his 50s was not very welcoming. One of my family members didn’t even eat their dinner due to the food not being made how it was asked to be done. Server didn’t even bother to ask what the issue was but was happy to charge. Listen is not about the money and I know that it’s not the servers fault but next time ask the questions like that you deliver the message to the cook or the manager so that you guys don’t repeat a mistake. Hopefully next time it has improved. I’m still giving it a good rating.
I finally found great pizza in Clearwater! The clam chowder was also amazing. I enjoyed the tossed salad, but not the house Italian dressing without adding additional salt and parmesan. Johnny's bread is wonderful. I also had spumoni for dessert. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. I will definitely go again.
My first time here was with a group of ladies from my Bible study. The greeter was super nice and very accommodating, our waitress was very sweet and very efficient. I ordered the meatball appetizer and the grilled chicken Caesar salad, and both were very good.
No more bolognese. No flavor.
Very polite and friendly host and servers. Food was prompt.Only issue is, with the understanding that the place has been open for a long time, but many fixtures, window blinds had accumulated dust and even...assorted detritus in the window sills and corners. The bruschetta topping was premade and tomatoes were soft and slightly wilted. Breads were all fantastic.Otherwise, a good experience and food always comes out quickly and hot.
I think I’ve found my new favorite Italian restaurant. From the service to the food, EVERYTHING was amazing. The place was packed and Dekoda was on top of it all. Very friendly and helpful to a first time patron. Very clean and super friendly atmosphere. Prices were more than reasonable for the portions and quality of the food. They said it would be a 30 minute wait and we barely waited ten. If you’re looking for a chill spot with amazing food and service, Johnny’s is your place. Excuse the photo quality, I was ready to eat.

We reserved dinner for 6 at 5:30. Advised in advance that we were celebrating a birthday. Had to wait over 20 minutes. We were not seated before others who arrived after us. Then our family of 2 kids & 4 adults was seated right next to the very noisy bar. Unpleasant & inappropriate..
Even after having not been to Johnny's in many years, it's still the same. The food is excellent, good-sized portions and fairly priced. The veal marsala was excellent along with the fettucine alfredo side. Not just a couple of small veal medallions but nice sized slices in sauce and plenty of mushrooms. The veal piccata was also excellent with the same side and was more than enough. Close to Ruth Eckerd Hall for an early dinner before a show. Arrived at 4:30pm and was seated right away. By the time we left at 5:40pm it was packed and people waiting. Definite recommended for a great Italian dinner.
