Charlie's is my husband and I's favorite sushi place. We drive 45 minutes to come here. The spicy crab salad, spicy tuna salad, and off the menu hurricane salad are all MUST haves!!!! If you like spicy but flavorful, tuna and scallops...ask your server for the Hurricane tuna salad. ❤️
Our First time at Charlie's and it did not dissapoint! thoroughly enjoyed disappoint! Our shrimp tempura, the restaurant itself is huge & super clean! The menu is really nice done. The size of our sushi was proper and actually fits in your mouth,in one go, (not all over the table!)bigger is not always better. Our waiter was super fast. And our overall First impression and experience was Great!
First time trying this place, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Our table was clean upon arrival, got to choose our table. Food was fresh, generous portions with reasonable prices. Will definitely come back again. They have easy-to-use chopsticks.
This is an awesome restaurant. Dan was an excellent server with such a cheerful attitude. He gave suggestions on the menu and politely, and discreetly, asked if I needed a fork. Which I did lol. I highly recommend!I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box, which came with soup and salad. It was amazing.
the food was good and the table service was fast despite the fact that it was only a waiter
My fiancée and I had the volcano roll and the TNT roll and they were both amazing. Then we had mochi ice cream and out of all the flavors that we tried the surprise winner was the red bean!! Our server Kati, was wonderful, attentive, personable, super sweet and informative. Two big thumbs up. We started attacking the mochi before we remembered to take a photo and the sushi had no chance.
The sushi here is awful. We purchased a shrimp tempura roll and the batter is so thick it’s hard to even chew, it’s really inedible. I’ve attached a photo to showThe only thing I will say positive is the sashimi fish tastes fresh and that’s the only reason I gave it two stars. Very disappointed because the reviews seemed promising
My wife said it's the best Sushi she's ever had and she loves the stuff, me, not so much, but I didn't hate it by any means for somebody that dislikes seafood. The noodles I got were great. Place was clean and service was nice and attentive. I'd recommend even if you're not a die hard Japanese food fan.
Awesome sushi and great staff!
I have been A Charlie fan since the late 90s when he was at Enterpize and McMullen Booth area. Always a sushi fan...but just settled after losing touch. One day after some phenomenal sushi on a ski trip I (and not wanting average stuff anymore) I googled Charlie and saw that he was in downtown Clearwater area. not the nearest to us but if we are craving sushi we drive there. Not even worth it otherwise....even if closer or a bit cheaper (not that he's expensive but local $5 rolls / happy hour....won't even bother) freshness, creativity and atmosphere.
