We moved to the Cape from Chicago almost a year ago. Trying to find an average/decent Italian restaurant down here has been a challenge. Ciao was a pleasant surprise and I wish we would have tried them months ago. The place is very small but I'd call it intimate. Had the calamari appetizer which was quite tender and not chewy. I had the chicken marsala with prosciutto. Very good and a very large portion. My wife had the Occo Bucco which she really liked. It was served with risotto which was a bit different for us as we usually see it come with some kind of potato. Tiramisu was excellent. The only negative was they charged for bread but these days costs of food are so high I kind of understand that. Service was great. Jim was unbelievable. There was a nother male server there that seemed to be doing a great job as well. We sat next to a couple that was celebrating their anniversary and he went out of his way to make it a special night for them. Jill...the owner came around and met with every table while we were there. You don't see that very often, even in family-run restaurants. Prior to coming here I have read a lot of the reviews and love the passionate responses from Jill. One reviewer mentioned a Christmas tree on the ledge near the window. It's a small decorative tree with Italian flag colored lights on it. Not a Christmas tree! We look forward to coming back.

Mia Jill what an incredible woman. She makes you feel like your apart of her family. The only thing I can say about the food is OMG it’s amazing. And the desserts….. you have to try the cheese cake even if you don’t have room left in your belly.
A very inviting atmosphere with delicious food and drinks! It was our first visit and we will definitely be back! The garlic bread was phenomenal and both our dishes were extremely tasty. The owner stopped by at the end and visited with us and asked how our dinner was. Super sweet and appreciated!
What an amazing experience! The food was outstanding! The love and atmosphere was beyond anything I could have expected. I can't wait to go back. I want to try everything on the menu. I had gnocchi in a cream sauce and OMG! Make reservations it fills up quick! The owner is the sweetest person you ever want to meet! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food was delightful and Jill made sure we were enjoying every course. We enjoyed our time talking with the regulars. We recommend you visit and enjoy a good Italian meal. Try the Shank it was amazing.
I can't say enough about this restaurant. The food was amazing. The atmosphere and love was beyond what you would expect. I can't wait to go back. I want to try every single dish on the menu. I read the review about the vodka sauce and the recovering alcoholic. Why the f....k would you even consider ordering that dish in the first place??? You are playing games with yourself. Really, you cried at the table?? The owners are hard working people. There are erasers on pencils for a reason. Or maybe you don't know what an eraser is. I would have thrown your ass out wah wah wah!! And the other idiot with the chicken wings, you don't come to an Italian restaurant and ask for chicken wings. Go to Kentucky Fried chicken you arsh hole! Anyway I loved the gnocchi with cream sauce, which is what I had. I needed to sample the gravy, (yes we Italians can it gravy), so I had a meatball too! Totally recommend! Jill the owner is the sweetest person you will ever meet. Make a reservation it fills up real fast!
I never take the time to review places, but this restaurant is now my favorite. The atmosphere is so calming and welcoming, the owner came and personally checked on us multiple times, the waitstaff works well as a team to make sure each guest is taken care of. The food, THE FOOD oh my gosh! It is truly to die for, I have been searching for good Italian since I moved to the cape and every place I've tried has just had something missing, until now. I tried the garlic bread special and the lasagna, both knocked my expectations out of the park. I'm so excited to come back and try other things on the menu, including dessert, I was too full to try it this time but the dessert menu is extensive and the other tables that got them looked phenomenal! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience :)
I can't say enough about Trattoria Ciao. From when you walk in, to when you leave the dining experience is phenomenal. Truly our best dining experience, ever. The appetizers of crab stuffed shrimp, spicy mussels & brushetta , the BEST! Our friends had the seafood Cippiono & Veal Marsala, and we had the Duck (OMG) and Osso Bucco (OMG X 2).And then save room for desserts. The best Cheesecake we've ever had & their Chocolate Mousse & creme brulee! Not to often we all all Wowed ( is there such a word?) Great job and we can't wait to bring many, many more friends & family. Thank you so much for an amazing evening.Ciao!
Excellent service and food !
