I'm sorry but I think this was the worse Chinese food I've ever had. I had the ginger wings which had absolutely no flavor, the rice was over cooked with no flavor. The egg roll was just smushy and you couldn't even tell what was in. Never again
The best Chinese restaurant in SW Florida. Food is of the highest quality, correctly seasoned, and prepared. We ate in their cozy dining room numerous times prior to Covid. Have enjoyed many great "carry-out:" meals in recent years. My favorite is Pork Fried Rice. My wife loves a seafood dish called Dragon Delight. Their Egg Foo Yung is delightful although I skip the gravy. They also have a number of "combo" plates if you are undecided and enjoy eating several choices at the same time. I would recommend The Orient without reservation!!!
Haven't been there in years. Nice to see it's just as good as ever. You get what you pay for.
Came in and were quickly seated with menus and order tea. Started with a great soup for all and then followed the lunch menu with choices. Service was great and food was hot and tasty. Portion size was large with enough to take some back.
Unfortunately the qaulity has gone down over the years. We brought my Mom for dinner as we were in the area and hadnt been there in a long time. My family had been regularly eating at the Orient for about 15 yrs starting before my kids were born (they are now in their 20's).Not sure what changed but the food was horrible.My Mom said the Egg Foo Young was overcooked, my Wife's Sesame Chicken tasted like salt (the sauce was pasty & black and tasted like thickened/condensed soy sauce). My Sweet & Sour Pork was way overcooked....pork was crunchy & tough and the sauce was not like anyhing I've seen....a thick dark red sauce that tasted like burnt molasses.We were so disappointed that a place that had once been a tradition just served us the worst chinese food weve ever had.If it werent for having just picked my Mom up from the hospital, we would have sent the food back.We will not try there again.
This has yummy Lemon Chicken. Best I have ever tasted. I will be back
Terrible food. We were a group of 5 and we all ordered different dishes and disliked all of our meals. Disgusting.
I called to place a take out order. After I gave her my order, I asked the “lady” if she would tell me how much my order was. She said, “No! I can’t, I’m too busy! I have customers in the restaurant that I’m taking care of.” And hung up on me. This was the same lady who told us a couple of weeks ago; when we tried to eat in, that they weren’t serving inside, because she was the only one there and was taking takeout orders only. I thought this was a restaurant. Apparently, they didn’t get the memo. Three strikes- you’re gone off my list. The customer service is horrible. It’s a shame, because the food used to be good.
The food was good but a little heavy handed on salt. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The building and decor seemed very outdated.
Authentic chinese food. Food is really good, best in Cape Coral!!!
