Our waitress Kendall was amazing! The manager Tina on the other hand was soooo rude!! Huffed at us when we said 3 and then when my husband said thank you for seating us she said "uh huh"! We also heard her yelling at the waitresses! Very unprofessional!!! Needs to be addressed!!
great food all you can eat fish is the best
We are frequent diners at Mels in Cape Coral. Tonight a manager, named Tina, was yelling and cursing at a server within ear shot of a semi full restaurant. If this server needed to be talked to, it should have been done privately, and cursing at someone will not make them better. Thought you should know
This place is awesome. Faith, our server, is phenomenal. We had the all you can eat fish fry. It was one of the better fish fries that I’ve had, with a nice salad and great fries. I will be back.
great food. reasonable prices
We made an order for our grandparents who are over 80 and fasting for Ramadan. 30 minutes before the order should have been delivered, we received an email that it was canceled because the tablet wasn't "working". We told my grandparents not to prepare any other meal that night, so imagine their surprise when they had to scramble to put something together right before iftar. Will never order from here again.
Surprisingly, we got in to Mel's Diner very quickly. Usually there is line right outside. But we got lucky. This is a diner with a very extensive menu with great prices and variety. Service is quite quick friendly. I had the hot turkey sandwich. It came with a small dollop of mashed potato, two slices of bread and a huge amount of wonderful sliced turkey done to perfection. All of this covered in a large amount of gravy. Almost enough to satisfy my love/need of it. I had to borrow a couple of spoonfuls from my wife who fortunately for me doesn't like that much. Other dinners people around us were getting looked great as well. Very good value here considering the way prices are rising everywhere else. We will have to get back here again soon.
I should preface this by saying we went on St. Patrick’s day morning, so it was very busy.Mel’s diner was a whirlwind of emotions in our dining experience. To start we got seated very shortly after we walked in. Then when seated, the waitress was very snappy and sort of rude. I, at least, was off put by the rudeness but others in my party didn’t seem to feel the same. Shortly after the waitress took our order she came back and apologized for being snappy, and stated she just got into work and already has a million things to do. Perfect, you owned up and apologized, everything is forgotten. We had an amazing meal, that tasted delicious, albeit the sides were smaller than expected. The waitress was attentive and sweet while running around the whole place like crazy. At the end of our dining experience, us 4 being the youngest people in the place by 40 years, a very nice old woman came to our table and talked to us. She asked us where we were from, where we are staying and what we’ve done. She was super cool and really sweet.Overall, Mel’s is awesome, and is a great place to go for some morning grub.
How do you screw up something as easy as breakfast? Mel’s Diner did! We love corned beef hash as a dine-out breakfast go to. Mel’s corned beef hash tasted like it came out of a Hormel can and served cold without being cooked. The hash brown potatoes were very dry, overcooked., and tasteless. The eggs over easy were cold and runny. Their coffee tasted like they were reheating Starbucks after adding water. The forty minute wait on. Sunday morning left me with a very disappointing overall experience.
Mel's Diner is a place where you go with the "Flo". A twist from the show. As a guest here staying locally, I was highly impressed by the service and the extensive menu that is amazing. The Cheeseburgers are top notch and I also enjoyed the nostalgia from the front door to the tables. The Milk shakes are top notch and so so yummy. Other than the slightly smaller glasses that the shakes come in the shake was completely amazing reminding me of the 50 style malts served at Johnny Rockets. The booths are very clean and the toilets were very clean and above expectations. The waitress service was top notch. One waitress is an honorable mention. I visited this location twice and the Waitress named " Jo Jo" was handling the table where my wife and I sat. Although she had many tables , she was so courteous and amazing with an overload of tables. Seems the place is short staffed with waitresses one thing I found wrong is that the waitress has an extra burden of taking the checks to a cashier. This I found should not be a waitress thing to do since it takes away from taking care of customers needs. This business should be utilizing a cashier since the high volume of customers the owner can afford one.As a family member already a diner owner, I never saw a waitress doing a cashier's job. Other than this shortcoming this place deserves 5 stars.
