I miss this place before they did all the upgrades and opened the building next to it. I have probably been here 4 times since then and the food and service is definitely not the same. I think my last order was my last attempt of giving them another chance. I ordered a mofongo take out with the shrimp and garlic sauce and they forgot the sauce so it was super dry and ended up throwing it away
Ok for one ...no Maduro in the mamposteo like they do on the island ...chicharrones no taste ...you get four chicken size nuggets of papa relleno...I'm from NY where you get true PR food ....ya need to step up.your game ...send abuela to the back so she can get down and cook .....I love my People but this was an imposter ...wepa papa
I probably ate too much. But it was all very good. My wife and I took a vacation to Puerto Rico about 8 months ago and this food was just about on par. Slightly less aggressively seasoned but on point besides. The mixed seafood mofongo with garlic sauce is my favorite although the creole sauce was good too. The bistec encebollado (steak smothered in onions) was my next favorite. I did not care for the crab meat alcapuria, as it tasted store bought and the crab meat kinda got lost in the yucca masa. If I ever want to reminisce about the island though, this is the best around that I've sampled so far.
The service was very good, friendly and attentive.The food was delicious very flavorful, fresh and cooked to order, I highly recommend.
My personal opinion, first you may have to wait , but this is not a fast food restaurant like BK , food did came in order Drinks, Appetizers and Main dish ...in proper order. As for the food , what I ordered was excellent , service was Friendly , they did came to our table to check on us, and did advised us "Food is coming" I have no complains.. Price is average in comparison to current market I would say fair.. ?. if you set some time aside to go eat this is the place to go!! For Fresh food , if you want faster service you may want to go to fast food restaurant like BK. ? We ordered Mofongo de Camarones al Ajillo eat in !! and Alcapurias de cangrejo (Grab Meat) to go!!

It's was okay.Mofongo was good, the creole sauce was good, however, the chicken was not good.Tasteless & overcooked from sitting in liquid for who knows how long.
Good service, great food, always with a smile. Love the tropical juice specially the parcha one ? they are the best in SWFL. WOW!
