The environment is really cool. The staff were friendly.Meatballs were ok.Crazy Alfredo pasta was really good, better than the regular Alfredo.Gluten free pizza was good, and the combination of the flavors of the Bianca pizza with additional chicken was very good.
I will Never recommend this restaurant. My friend went in to buy a slice of pizza and a drink they first refused service because the $10 was lil damp. I gave my friend a fresh $10 bill and even after they put her through the embarrassment of check the bill they still refused service even when it tested real. I went in with a $20 the same cashier didn't look at it twice stuck it in the register. My friend is from the islands and i am white the discrimination was clear. Tried to talk to manager and all she did was get nasty. Both the managers and the cashiers response and handling of the situation was uncalled for! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!
Everthing was amazing! Lavender Sprig Martini is a must try. Eggplant rolatini was delicious. My table mates had eggplant parmesan, calzone and the Napoli - all of which were also delicious. I am sure the desserts are also wonderful, but with large portions we were to full to find out. Our waitress was Hailey and she was also outstanding and made great menu recommendations. We will plan to return again soon.
Decent beer selection wish they had more avaliable that were listed..
I wish they would change (UPDATE) the lighting. Too yellowish - makes everyone look old and sallow. Just change out the bulbs ... ALL the bulbs. Food was delicious, as usual. Ordered a Toni salad ... huge portion, with salami, pepperoni and a nice vinaigrette ... crunchy and cold, an excellent choice. The two of us could barely finish a small Toni. We went there tonight specifically for pizza, which we hadn't had in a while. Valentino's does thin crust pizza like you get in NJ, but not as oily, which is just fine with me.... lots of toppings available, but I usually get just a plain ole cheese pizza. Service tonight was terrific. But the best part tonight was the special cocktail I ordered, a Blood Orange Cosmo. A mixture of blood orange juice, vodka, triple sec and lime. Not too sweet. A cocktail to dream about. (Usually I don't care about cocktails, one way or the other, and with pizza I order a Coke. But the description on their chalk board got my attention, so I ordered one. Mmm Mmm Good!) Of course we'll be back ... we used to go to the Valentino's on Clark when we lived in So. Sarasota. This one is almost as good, larger and more bar-centric, with a lot of outdoor seating. We ate indoors - I like A/C better than a view of a parking lot on a warm evening. Their prices are higher than before, but so are everyones prices. And I've been tipping 20% these days, a bit more than before, so it doesn't seem like such a good value, But I'm not complaining -- just telling it like it is. Go ... and ENJOY!
We always have delicious food and drinks here. They are good at customizing dishes if needed. Indoor and outdoor seating. Kitchen is open to the restaurant, which is nice to see
We enjoyed the outdoor dinning of a Bianca Pizza, tea, and Amberbock beer! The pizza was the best tasting pizza I’ve experienced in 20 plus years. The service was great and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended
Great restaurant at UTC nice patio to enjoy great cocktail drinks, delicious appetizers, pasta dishes and brick oven pizza's ? Valentino's is must try when in Sarasota
Had a delicious meal last night at Valentino‘s on University Parkway. Service was good meal was delicious but the worst part was the plastic chairs outside on the patio are the most uncomfortable chairs I ever set in and I’m not fat.
Bland, trite. I love pizza. All kinds. I don't really remember a time when I thought a pizza was not good. Well, two times now in about two months and both times, Valentino's failed to deliver. Even worse was the service. We ordered multiple pizzas way ahead of time for a designated pick up time, and were told they can't do that. That didn't make any sense, so we told them we would not be there to pick it up until a certain later time and hoped they could delay putting the pizzas in. So the ordered was taken and then we were asked if we wanted to tip? What are we tipping for? My wife is soft-hearted and a former bartender, so she tipped 10% for a a takeout pizza. Why doesn't Valentino's pay better or up their prizes instead of squeezing tips from take-out customers? Of course the pizza was cold and dry by the time my father-in-law picked it up exactly when we said we'd be there. I was flabbergasted. And I mean cold. Like it had been sitting in a box for 45 minutes. In 40 years, I have never given a pizza place a bad review.
