Good restaurant overall. The BBQ egg rolls are really good! The restroom could use a good deep cleaning. No more salad bar, a huge disappointment to the whole family. The meat quality was excellent. Sonny's never seems to mess this up. I'll probably only order take out from Sonny's as the dine in experience isn't the same as I remember.

Food was worse than terrible. Pulled pork was in dry, hard chunks and cold like they scrapped the bottom of the pan. The waitress was kind to bring a new plate which also had issues. Wings were cold and dried out. We paid $50 for junk food. Prices have increased and the quality is the bottom of the pits. We will NEVER throw our money away again at Sonny's BBQ in Bradenton, FL or any other Sonny's BBQ. What was supposed to be a special dinner was absolutely ruined!
We drive 45 minutes to get here as this was the closest one to us in Riverview. The waitress was definitely busier than the others it seemed. She wasn't too friendly but that's fine.However when it came time to pay I showed her my birthday coupon and she turned unfriendly real quick. My husband utilized the coupon and apparently we got a sandwich that didn't apply to the birthday coupon. Does it say that in the email? No it doesn't. So she gives us flack saying the sandwich is too expensive for that coupon and she'll honor it just this one time. Like I shouldn't have to tell you I'm using a coupon. If I can only order specific items then it should say that. She also told us the sandwich was more expensive than the menu showed it was. But whatever she knows more than me, right?To top it off our food was pretty cooled down when we got it.She left a bad taste in my mouth. This location was dirty anyway. Nasty restrooms and the booth we sat in was terrible. They need to buy new cushions for these ripped up booths.We won't be back. This location is probably the worst I have ever eaten at.

Lively BBQ spot. The food was pretty good, the waitstaff was all over everything and responsive. The wings were juicy, would have been nice if shaken in a sauce. The original BBQ sauce is really good and worth a try. I’ll most likely go back for wings.
I know this is a favorite for all the local community. The service was good, with more take-out than eat-in. Had the ribs, slaw, and mac and cheese. Could taste flour in the mac and cheese. If you like your pork falling off the bone. This is your place. I like a little pull on mine, ribs. Didn't ask if they used any MSG, but my body said yes.
We used to have one in Port Charlotte but that one closed. Went to the fair and on the way me and the hubby decided we would get some on the way back.Great food and service. Love all there food. But the two appetizers you should try are the egg rolls and the corn nuggets. When you order just keep in mind it is a lot of food.
Something happened to the food here, it used to be really good just a few months ago. Tonight neither of us could finish our food. The chicken was rubbery and seemed old. The green beans were over cooked and disintegrating. The baked beans tasted weird. Even the bread was odd. Something must’ve happened to the old kitchen staff or quality of the food.
Simply wow. The food was absolutely delicious. Very nice country vibes and super easy-going staff. Food came out quickly and it was fresh.
