Literally best tacos I’ve ever had! The chips are homemade and delicious. The guacamole was amazing. My mom and I both got tacos and we were in heaven eating them. The workers were so friendly- they helped us craft some great tacos!! Shout out to Chris, Andy, and Ryan!!! So helpful!!
I really wanted this to be good, I read the reviews (and maybe I'm just picky being married to a Mexican and having had the BEST tacos and burritos from all over the world) but this place was mediocre at best, moreover expensive. I believe my tab was $30 for 2 burritos and 1 drink. This is an overpriced Chipotle. I'm not sure what the hype is, maybe we got overcharged and just went in at a bad time, but it was not something I'd return to. Also, the employees didn't really seem like they wanted to be there, but that might just be the way things are these days.
Loveeee Poppo’s. This place is perfect for lunch or dinner on the island!! Indoor seating is the perfect place to cool down on a hot day or you can also sit outside. So far we’ve only had the chicken in burritos, tacos, and bowls, but those have all been amazing!
Very nice staff. Although younger employees need to be taught customer service skills like talking, greeting customers, etc. Food is good. They make tortillas right there and make your food to order. Tastes fresh and is hot. Wish they told you what items were organic. Also, when ordering tacos, be careful what you put on them especially the pickled cabbage as it makes the homemade tortillas soggy and they disintegrate in your hand. So you're basically eating a "bowl" with tortilla pieces. However, the fresh made tortillas are delicious.
My wife placed a takeout order while on our way home. I ordered a burrito and she ordered a bowl with sauce on the side. I arrived at the time it was suppose to be done and it was ready to go. Arrived home to find we had a burrito, a side of sauce and a half filled small plastic container that we guessed was her bowl, no fork or anything in the bag. Both of us were blown away at the portion she received both were $9.25 each, there was no way what was in my burrito was going to fit in that container. I decided to go back to the store to see what could be done. When I approached the counter I explained to the person standing there that something didn't seem right. Immediately he and some woman that I thought was waiting for food pounced that that was what she ordered and that was their portion size. They could add more "stuff" that my wife didn't want to make it bigger. They stated that my burrito was bigger because I ordered more stuff inside, no way cilantro and pico make up that much of a difference. I worked in food service for years, as you add more "stuff" you cut the portions of each item, larger portions on fewer items, so the end result is a meal even if someone only orders a few items. They shoot for a 30% food cost for this reason. The bigger problem was the horrific customer service, very defensive to the point she told me when I own a restaurant and understand how much food is I would understand why they portion that way. Instead of making "it right" they threw away the food,(losing money) gave me a refund (losing money) and got this review.(losing money) I can only assume they need to make up money somewhere. I won't be back and you shouldn't go either!
Normally I would give this place 5 stars, however the service I received yesterday I was not thrilled about. I went in around 8:10 p.m (I understand it's late, and that they close at 9) I went to order a burrito and as I am in the middle of ordering the lady tells me they are out of beens, only have two proteins left, and only two kinds of salsa...I get it, it's late and it gets busy. You gotta tell customers this before they order because I would've gone somewhere else or gotten tacos. I ended up paying full price and wasn't compensated at all.
I come to this location at least once a week and Poppo's is a 10/10 satisfaction to my stomach every. single. time. I cannot say that all of the employees have the best attitude when I go in, but the two who never disappoint are Jenna, who is one of the managers and makes a pristine burrito/bowl every time, and Hannah, who was the first person to recognize me and my husband as regulars and can tell us our orders before we even have the chance haha. They're the best! Don't know if I will ever get sick of this place.

WOW. I don’t give five stars very often. This place deserved it. We ate here TWO days in a row. You would never know it is a chain restaurant! The burritos are out of this world. Fresh, flavorful ingredients, organic, and LOADED. Dough is pressed fresh for the tortillas, chips are made right there in front of you. (They use sunflower oil to fry it!)You definitely get a bang for your buck. These are the type of burritos you continue to stuff into your mouth after you’re full because it’s that good. Don’t pass up a chance to eat here and load your tongue with flavor!
Like chipotle on steroids...Fresh Homemade Tortillas is West Bradenton, nice
