We have been going to this location since it first opened many years ago. I ordered breakfast and requested my toast dry. Before the waitress came for my order I noticed a patron trying to rid her toast of the over abundance of "butter" by dragging the slices along the edge of her plate. When I placed my order I requested the toast to be dry. My eggs came as ordered; but the bacon was a "burnt offering." Every slice of the bacon was black. The toast come out smothered in butter. The watiress finally came to see if everything was OK. I showed her the bacon and toast. She took the plate and asked if I wanted a coffee refil. I said yes and she took the cup along with the plate. She returned immediately saying she swipped my bacon out for the slices now on my plate. Since she did it I have to idea if she used her bare hands or what. If the cook did it I would presume a utensil would have been used. I did get fresh, dry toast. The other servers brought a pot of coffee to the tables and booths in order to refil the cups. I finally had to get her attention (no, they were not busy. In fact, the opisite.) to ask for my coffee. She admitted she forgot about it. If I decide to go to Popi's again I will go to the one in Ellenton where Popi or her husband are. This location was so different when they visited it frequently so many years ago.
We eat at one location or another once or twice a month, and enjoy consistency, good quality and very friendly professional service. Prices are reasonable, and taste is above average.
Wintering in Bradenton we were pleased to discover Popi’s Place close by. We have visited for breakfast repeatedly and have never been disappointed. Staff is BUSY but friendly and efficient - everyone knows their job - and the food has been consistently very good. It arrives hit from the kitchen and made correctly. Restaurant is large - spacious and bright - and there are a few outside tables as well. We prefer this over other well-known establishments.
I haven't been to Popi's in a long time. My mother loved to bring me here back in the day. So I had to stop by and try her Breakfast specialIrene, our waitress, recommended the chorizo omelet. Great suggestion on her part. The portion sizes were more than adequate and I struggled to clean my plate. Coffee was free with refills. And the service was friendly, fast and the food was freshly cooked.If my mother was still here, it would have been perfect. καλή όρεξη
My Crab cake Benedict was yummy as was my friend's meat lovers omelet. Betty our server was efficient. Would definitely return.
Came here with the church ladies. Small wait due to being a Sunday. The ladies were happy with their meal. I thought my sausage was dry but kept it to myself. Large soft biscuits. Very tastie

We have been there MANY times. Always seated quickly, drink order taken, then food order taken. Food is out quickly and they give you the check then, so you don't need to wait. Staff very friendly. Food is VERY GOOD.We have been there for breakfast and dinner. Different menu than the usual places.
