This place is amazing. The ribs were fantastic, the sides were delicious, and the portions were too large for any of us to finish. This never happens. You have to try this joint out.
Our waiter was nice and super friendly. Willing to accommodate our dairy allergy needs. But the food was lackluster. Served on lunchroom plates. Ribs were lukewarm and hard. Baked beans were okay. Sweet mashed potato was eh. Corn muffin donuts a little on dry side. The BBQ smoker outside is inviting and does the trick in getting you inside. But wasn't impressed by the food and price. Also came home wirh clothes smelling like smoke!
We were out of town and tried it out. Definitely deserves 5 stars! Wonderful service on top of the great food, great flavors, really well cooked and seasoned, freshly made, and big portions. All 6 of us in our party ranging from ages 6-60 really enjoyed our food.
True BBQ. Enjoyable time . The owner is a bit cantankerous but makes super funny comments. Hard working waitress. Great collards and thighs. Pulled pork was good when drowned in mustard BBQ sauce. O and add the slaw to the pork sandwich nice complement. Come hungry, big portions.
I lived in Austin, Tx for 17 years and I miss good Texas bar-b-q so I'm always on the lookout for bar-b-q joints around here. Drove past Pig Out numerous times so I finally stopped recently to give it a try. I only ordered the pulled pork sandwich, for experimental purposes. I figured if they could do a good pulled pork then maybe the rest is good, and I'll go back. I got it to go and when I opened the box 15 minutes later I was pleasantly surprised to find the bread was separate from the meat and the sauces that were in individual tubs, Two kinds of sauce. A mustard type and a standard dark/sweet one. The pork itself was in a container all by it's lonesome and sealed tight. When I opened the lid I got all excited because it was hot, juicy and smelled like Texas. There was also A LOT of it, I mean a lot!!! Seemed like at least 3/4 of a pound if not more. It was a meal within itself. I kid you not! the buns were the old fashion type and huge, like 6 inches or more huge. I tried the brisket another time but I wasn't as impressed with it but it was still good, none the less. I got fries with it and the fries were how I like them, with the skin on. That's all I've tried so far, ribs are next, then chicken. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. If you don't like that you need to have your taste buds calibrated. Cheers!
This was our first visit to Pig Out, and we loved it! We both had pulled pork which was delicious. We also had some brisket which we didn't think was quite as good. We absolutely loved the sides - mac and cheese was our favorite, we also had the fried okra, and cucumber salad - all great! We will definitely be back!
Good food, casual atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Service was great. Limited seating. Sweet tea is not that sweet. If they tell you there is no heat to the greens that is wrong. There is some heat but to me they were good. Potato salad is ok and everything needs salt including the fish. Some good some bad but you get plenty of food on your plate.
We really enjoyed our stop at these guys' barbecue. They were very accomodating and friendly with our party of 6. All of us liked our food: ribs are delicious, salads and sides are good, and they have a good IPA, which made my day.
Excellent food ever time!!!
