We came here as a family outing. The customer service was great, she was patient with my toddler. The icecream was tasty but nothing super out of this world. However, all of us had diarrhea after this and my toddler got diarrhea and a fever we could not explain. We even made sure we checked for Covid and flu. Then I come to find they are associated with a listeria outbreak which makes complete sense to our symptoms.Anyways I rarely write negative reviews because we all need positivity in this world. But when it comes to the health and safety of my child and children in general then I felt the need to speak up.Hope they get this fixed soon.
Ice cream is awesome. Unfortunately these folks don’t adhere to their business hrs and close the store whenever they feel like it. Today they closed at least 1/2 hr before 10. Third time this has happened to us. Won’t happen to us again.
Young woman working this afternoon was so positive and glad to see us, as well as helpful in recommending the best ice cream (I had toasted coconut). I wish I had asked her her name!
Nice small town feel ice cream parlor. On a hot summer evening, its great to get some local made ice cream. The servers were pleasant and the ice cream is delicious.
Their ice cream is good, but 7.22 for two small scoops of ice cream is insane and doesn't make it worth it!!
I couldnt sample ice cream due to covid. are they using the same spoon that people are putting into their mouth to pull samples? how is that an issue they still haven't figured out (use disposable spoons/ try gloves. free advice). got one i ended up not liking. Figured that's why they dont give samples
Good variety of flavors, buy they are always out of sugar free ice when I visit
We stopped in for two separate scoops Saturday afternoon, 3/5/22, which were over $10.00. Yes, that's expensive, but that's not the bad part.First, I asked if I could sample the salted pretzel caramel ice cream, and the young lady serving me said she's not allowed to give a taste. When asked why, she said it's because she'd have to touch the spoon and because of covid, her boss won't allow that. But meanwhile, she has to touch my cup and spoon for the scoop I'm ordering, so I don't understand the difference. I think it's just because they don't want to offer a taste.Long story short, the salted pretzel caramel was gross. It was gritty, and the pretzels were soggy / stale tasting (not fresh at all). I told the girl I didn't like it and asked if I could have something different. She proceeded to say, "I'll have to charge you for another scoop because you tasted that already and I can't put it back". I couldn't believe they'd ever put any ice cream back after it's been handed over to a customer. I confirmed I heard her correctly, and she said they'd put it back, had I not tasted it. That is the main reason I'm writing this review. That is unsanitary and unsafe.Good customer service would just replace the scoop. Plain and simple, it's that easy to provide good customer service. This was my first time going to this place. Any good business owner would certainly want a customer's first experience to be better than, this. Just like Starbucks would do. You don't argue with a customer and tell them they are forced to pay for something that is bad and then have to pay again to replace it. I will never go back to this place for those two reasons (bad customer service and poor food handling policies).
Love this establishment. Everybody is so friendly and happy to see you. The ice cream cannot be beat!
My loyalty has shifted from Coldstone to Big Olaf Creamery, especially after trying the strawberry cheesecake ice cream and being delighted at the pieces of actual cheesecake, which were soft and not frozen hard! Waffle cone tasted fresh, nowhere near stale. One scoop is a generously sized scoop. I did find a discrepancy in the posted prices online for a specific location, compared to the ones on display inside the store. Just something to be aware of that most items are roughly $1 more expensive than what the website says, at the time of writing. During the covid pandemic, it's not surprising anyway, and the quality justifies the price increase.
